They should also add a group of consultants to the team as well. People with real life trucking, road building, road maintenance, commercial law enforcement, logistics and dispatching, and industrial architectural experience.

If they took their advice, the results would be noticeably improved over the current game.

Agreed! And like clockwork now we sit back and wait for the brave forum uses to tell us why it shouldn’t happen, can’t, need programmers, DLC schedule in the way, not good for casuals, potato PCs, or SCS can’t afford it or it can never be perfectly implemented so la-la-la I don’t want it or any improvements I want my 10 year old applesauce - or any of the many other dog-ate-my-homework like explanations on why SCS should not improve on more than maps and trucks. All while other game devs pull away from SCS.

Sorry, that was a bad one

@seriousmods They don't listen to the real truckers they have now. If they listened to some of their internal feedback plus what people post on these forums, they have access to plenty of information with which they could seriously improve things.

Not a dedicated team and not for both games
Review / QA staff for each game with access to specialists
QA needs to be involved also in research and preplanning stages

Only if I had the time and energy to learn to mod and learn Blender. I'd be my own dedicated cargo team. I have no doubt the flatbed mod I'd create would be very very popular. Between standard flatbeds, step decks, container trailers (whenever they come) and sliding tarps, vans and reefers, I'd generate a solid 250+ cargoes. Don't think so....does 250 sound like a lot? Not to me. Look at all the links pertaining to cargo in my signature. Tons of ideas in all those links. I'd easily take even just 100-150 of those and make variants to easily increase the cargo pool.

If I have this vision, the devs should too if they want to make money. Money on the table for ATS is what SCS is leaving out there and I think its very possible with a dedicated cargo team to focus on this to generate revenue.

Yeah, it's unfortunate but true. A lot of this stuff is just not common knowledge, and the only way to learn it is by having a conversation.

But they don't seem willing to do that. I agree.

Flight, we would all support you: you have the vision, and you have the knowledge. SCS should have offered you a part time role tbh: no one has talked about cargo more than you, and no one has put more effort into research.

what do you mean by specialists? Like have someone call someone on the phone or send an email saying: "hey does this look right?"

Not dedicated:
milk tanker delivering milk straight to the store,
feed tank dropping feed off at the local store or distribution center
at least several other cargoes that absolutely make NO sense in their destinations or origins.
Very few to no dynamic filling cargoes

While it wouldn't happen overnight if you scaled it right, tied it to purchasable content, cargo could be just as exciting as the maps. Dedicated wouldn't be the cure all but it could vastly improve things...and I'm all for expanding DLC pipelines.

The midwest would be amazing if we could pick up grain from AI-driven tractors and deliver it to farm grain bins, then pick it up from the bins and deliver to some plant or port.

But we can't do any of those things. Everything is a dock, and we can't even remove tarps on empty trailers. A wasted opportunity.

Said it before, there should be a cargo team.

Why in the game and in 2022, for a game that transports goods, this is not possible?

While this platform is so realistic to unload wood chips with the moving bottom for pushing.

The worst is that this platform is in a prefabricated delivery company, but no it is just used for photos and decoration, what a pity to see that in a game where the heart of the game is transport.

No choice but to unload the wood shavings on a dumping dock, what a waste, not even willing to take back an unrealistic cargo after that !

I'm really hoping, and I'm getting away from this game more and more, it spoils all the fun of the road and the job, when you have to deliver in such a factory, or prefabricated like that, really it's high time to have depots to load according to the trailers you use, same thing for unloading

The oil tankers in oil stations and no docking please what a waste, same cattle in farms and in cage provided for this purpose, no docking please it spoils everything again ...

The most frustrating thing in all this is that the deposits are there, (the proof on my photos), but they are just used as decoration, and to make beautiful photos, I'm not a photographer lol.

I saw not long ago a member of SCS, saying that he was reading all the topics, taking into account all the suggestions, I don't know if this topic has really been seen, we have never seen any of them speak HERE yet.
