Re: Stuttering with own trailer
I wonder if the stuttering is related to the fact that there's no lod models for owned trailers, so the trailer visible in mirrors is the 100% detailed model version.

Re: Stuttering with own trailer
Update: I played for a few hours and now I'm back to the previous pattern where there are huge chunks of jobs on the Cargo Market.martinglight wrote: ↑22 Mar 2022 11:18 @hoevenvd I did a check of my Cargo Market just now. The job timings have dispersed but I still managed to find a huge batch of expiring jobs (at 5h31m before expiry).
However to be completely honest, I don't think there would be a very effective solution to this problem just by optimizing the timing - the sheer amount of jobs available in the Cargo Market means there is bound to be huge batches of jobs appearing and expiring simultaneously.
I think SCS can probably work on how this process is handled by the CPU - that would be a much more viable solution to this problem.
So I guess @hoevenvd you are right in a sense that this bug DOES happen randomly.
But so does the job generation pattern. And it still seems like the culprit for this random stuttering.
@Mohegan13 Thank you for your input; however IMHO if modeling were the cause, the stutter would not have been random.
Always underway.

Stuttering is not constant but merely a hickup every now and then

Re: Stuttering with own trailer
I wonder if the External Market is also playing a role... As these jobs are only available when an own trailer is attached, just like the Cargo Market.
Or are these jobs server-side generated, so no choking/computing takes place on our local PC...

Re: Stuttering with own trailer
I have played for a few days and this issue still occurs. Not always, but it does occur and sometimes freezes the hell out of my game.
@hoevenvd You might want to check again for the Cargo Market. If you do not see huge chunks of jobs in the Cargo Market, find a gas station and rest once or twice, and check if such jobs appear.
I was doing consecutive rests to wait for jobs for the Oriental Express achievement and now my Cargo Market is almost clogged with uniformly expiring jobs.
See picture below: jobs arranged by Price, for one city (Bucharest) and this.
At the same time my global Cargo Market looks like this (which I honestly find a little unsettling):
Not sure if External Market is involved because I am not signed in with a WoT profile.

Re: Stuttering with own trailer
@martinglight ohhh... YES! All cargo jobs were nicely packed in small batches, expiring on 1, 2, 3 minutes. Until I rested three times in a row, and my cargo job list was messed up. Not small batches anymore on 1, 2, 3, etc expiration time, but small batches on 11, 17, 23, etc. Weird. But also HUGE batches with the same expiration time. Hundreds of jobs expiring at the same time.
I have experienced it now three times (in real life, 30 minutes drive) that when these huge batches were expiring, I got a stutter. Exactly (!) on the calculated time.
This must be it! I can reproduce it now, and trigger it.

Re: Stuttering with own trailer
So what's the plan of action here? Has scs changed anything in the code? We don't get changelogs now except for major versions so we end up still chasing our tails with nothing specific to go on. The driving display with owned trailers feels like somethings holding it back. I don't have macro stutters or pauses, but i am aware of a reluctance when driving. My system is as smooth as butter with ets2 maxed out.

Re: Stuttering with own trailer
Well, I think we are on a path now to tell SCS how to reproduce the issue that some of us experience. Not everyone has this stutter-fest.
I also have everything maxed out on ETS2. Game is running smooth as silk. Except for those dreadful stutters that occur once in a while; those were un-explainable to me (why????). Until now. Now I have the feeling we are getting somewhere chasing the root cause.

Re: Stuttering with own trailer
Thanks for confirmation @hoevenvd. Probably this is a safe stage where we can tell @Max about our newest findings (since he was in this thread earlier).

Re: Stuttering with own trailer
@martinglight @Max Using the same method, I could reproduce the same stutter at expiration-time (of a huge batch of jobs) in ATS.
