there it is clearly written, Heavy Goods Vehicle, No Trailer or Semi Trailer, 90km/h on Highways and 80km/h on roads reserved for Cars and Motorcycles

With Trailer, 80km/h on Highways and 70km/h on roads reserved for Cars and Motorcycles

and this from a link provided by YOU
Yes, as I did say, it is something that is lost in translation, that's why I did add the pictures. I didn't contradict myself and you don't need to get so defensive about it.

That applies to non-articulated trucks or trucks with semi-trailers, the ones we actually drive in the game.

This applies to non-articulated trucks with a trailer, not present in the game. Think Volvo FL + trailer, like the picture I posted above at https://i.pinimg.com/736x/4e/1b/b1/4e1b ... --luis.jpg

nowhere is mention of it is a rigid or a tractor trailer unit, it clearly says Heavy Goods Vehicle and either fall under it, everything over 3.5T is a HGV

on roads reserved for Cars and Motorcycles

I think this may be a clue.
In Portugal we have highways (Auto-Estrada) and what we call Via-Rápida. For example in the game we have IC2 near Coimbra, that's a Via-Rápida limited to 100km/h for cars and 80km/h for trucks with semi-trailers. In the normal highways the speed limit for cars is 120km/h and 90km/h for semi-trailers.

The issue here is the translation from heavy truck without trailer or semi-trailer. Without trailer are the fixed ones like the Volvo FL. With semi-trailer are the ones like the Volvo FH with a trailer attached. Even wikipedia shows that correctly at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semi-trailer

Trucks with trailer are fixed trucks (without 5th wheel) with a trailer behind, those are not playable in the game.

You do know what a semi-trailer is, correct?

i know what a semi trailer is, but you dont know it apparently, a semi trailer is a book standard trailer that is pulled by a tractor unit like we have it ingame, a trailer is a semi trailer with a non removable dolly that has a drawbar on it and is attached to a tractor unit not via 5th wheel but via a hook, but it doesnt change the fact that both a HGVs over 3.5T and therefor are limited to 80km/h if they drive truck/trailer combo

I posted this in the Iberia thread.

Seems to me like it clearly states that HGV without a trailer OR a semitrailer are allowed 90km/h, but with a trailer (and by extension - a semitrailer) are limited to 80km/h.

So now you are the one contradicting yourself.

a semi trailer is a book standard trailer that is pulled by a tractor unit like we have it ingame

Yes, and it refers to this:

Automóveis pesados de mercadorias sem reboque ou com semi-reboque o limite de
velocidade é de:
– 50 km/h dentro das localidades
– 90 km/h em auto-estrada
– 80 km/h em vias reservadas a automóveis e motociclos
– 80 km/h nas restantes vias públicas;

a trailer is a semi trailer with a non removable dolly that has a drawbar on it and is attached to a tractor unit not via 5th wheel but via a hook

Yes and it refers to this

but it doesnt change the fact that both a HGVs over 3.5T and therefor are limited to 80km/h if they drive truck/trailer combo

Yes it does, because Portuguese road rules do in fact make a distintion between those, hence the separation between "Automóveis pesados de mercadorias sem reboque ou com semi-reboque" meaning HGV without a trailer or semi-trailer and "Automóveis pesados de mercadorias com reboque" meaning a HGV without a fifth wheel but with a trailer.

But hey, maybe every single Portuguese truck driver is wrong, you might want to fine the guy passing then at https://youtu.be/7oNPwgnvdFo?t=38

No, again, lost in translation.

Sem reboque ou com semirreboque.

Without a trailer or with a semi-trailer.

Com reboque

With a trailer.

Right, because the EC never gets things wrong

I would suggest that you try to find a certified English translation of these regulations. Doesn't SCS have any Portuguese speakers on their staff? No Portuguese beta testers? I still find it hard to believe they'd be this incompetent.
