So I just did this edit and even managed to find the new w900 tuning pack since there are new tanks in that also. The only difference between what is in the base w900 truck dlc and the tuning pack is the tuning pack has the names for the painted tanks. I did all the steps as you said and now I have no engine sounds. Any help with this would be appreciatedSlavJerry wrote: 18 Apr 2023 01:34 @NelTop5294 apparently this mod updated FEW HOURS before 1.47 update, so here's what you can do
1. goto the game root folder, copy dlc_kenworth_w900.scs and put it new folder somewhere
2. download SCS extractor https://modding.scssoft.com/wiki/Docume ... _Extractor
3. after that put it in the same folder of w900 file, now drag w900 file on top of the extractor and wait until cmd windows is automatic closed
4. in the extracted files, goto def/vehicle/truck/kenworth.w900/accessory/ then copy tank folder
5. extract my mod, then place the accessory and tank folder in the same place (def/vehicle/truck/kenworth.w900/)
6. in tank folder, delete every files that don't have word "nodef" on it
7. in every files, you will see lines called
suitable_for[]: "c15_435.kenworth.w900.engine"
suitable_for[]: "c15_500.kenworth.w900.engine"
suitable_for[]: "c15_550.kenworth.w900.engine"
suitable_for[]: "c15_625.kenworth.w900.engine"
now put these lines after that lines:
suitable_for[]: "6nz_435.kenworth.w900.engine"
suitable_for[]: "6nz_475.kenworth.w900.engine"
suitable_for[]: "6nz_500.kenworth.w900.engine"
suitable_for[]: "6nz_550.kenworth.w900.engine"
suitable_for[]: "6nz_600.kenworth.w900.engine"
suitable_for[]: "6nz_625.kenworth.w900.engine"
8. back to main extracted mod files (with manifest.sii and description.txt) select all files right click and click "add to archive..."
9. change archive format to zip and change compression method to store
10. pack the file and put it in the game

This is one of the best Cat engines available for ATS right now. SlavJerry really captures the heart of these engines with this mod.
However, I just want to offer some constructive criticism, version 4 has an unfortunate loop in the exhaust note that comes in at around 1400 RPM that I can't unhear.
Also, everyone should try turning off the internal reverb effect. Turns this thing into a completely different engine.

Wow, great job.
Just replaced the old v4.0 with the newest v5.1, and it's a huge improvement. Finally, I don't need to increase the truck volumes from default 50% to 100% any more, and it sounds even better and fuller than before.
Thx

Thanks for the update. I'll try it out this weekend. The previous version already had a very good sound.

Last winter I was in Canada and got a ride on a real W900 with CAT15. I drove it to the Alaskan border. I can say that the sound of this mod is really very similar to the C15. But still, something is wrong with it. It's kind of lifeless... Or rather, I don't know how to explain it.
But many people like it, and the author should be thanked.
