I enjoy looking at the pics you share on the restoration of this truck. One question I have on your air tanks and the brackets for them. Is there any rubber or any kind of buffer between the brackets and the tanks themselves?

@PBandJ currently there isnt any rubber between them at the moment, but Im still in the fabrication stage of my build, everything will be coming back apart for paint, and plumbing (air and fuel lines), then I will be installing rubber isolators between mounting points for the air and fuel tanks. Thanks for noticing what was missing though 🙂

Hello again for a quick update :) 8-) , I managed to get a little more done this weekend. I didnt manage to get many photos of the first agenda of the weekend, which was switch out the output yoke on main transmission. The transmission originally had, what was called a "1810" series yoke, which I swapped it to a "1710" series ypke, which the differences are the universal joint size.

The second job on the agenda was to modify the inner fenders for located items and for the intercooler piping. I had to get my front end parts back from my paint and body guy, which had been "sandblasted" and primered. This was just temporary to get the inner fenders fabbed up. Now that they are done, they will be accompanying the front end pieces back to the painter to get prepped to be painted. Heres the photos of that progress 8-)

Managed to acquire another big piece of my project puzzle yesterday 8-) , what is it, that you may ask? Its a full rear cut off from another truck. I managed to find a air ride setup that I was satisfied with for my truck. It was originally from a mid 90's Freightliner FLD, 3.58 gear ratio with air lockers on freightliners "airliner" suspension. Here's a few pics from picking it up yesterday. More to come soon 8-) Hope ya enjoy

Does that mean you’re changing your plans to have a single rear axle?

@BK Vissers yeah, I decided to go back to a tandem setup, it already has one, but its not a true tandem, only one axle pulls, the rear is a tag.
This way its a true tandem setup Im swapping to
