Re: Paccar MX-13 Stock sound (Version 2.0 Released)
Has anyone played around with the interior sound levels (loudness) for the interior of the new 680? I’ve tried multiple engine noises, including these which sound great in all other trucks, but in the new 680, they’re much quieter than I’d like. I get it there’s probably a lot more soundproofing, but I still want to hear the diesel!

@Kevz1088 If you know your way around the def files, you can manually change the interior volume for each truck using sound_effects_units.sui. This file can be found in:
def\vehicle\truck\<truckname>\interior\sound_effects_units.sui
where <truckname> is the SCS naming for each truck, eg. T680NG = kenworth.t680_2022:
def\vehicle\truck\kenworth.t680_2022\interior\sound_effects_units.sui
Inside the files, look for these 4 sections:
.effect.equalizer.cabin.inside
.effect.equalizer.cabin.outside
.effect.add.window_eq.closed
.effect.add.window_eq.opened
and find the low_gain, mid_gain and high_gain settings for each.
Think of the gain settings as a 3-frequency Graphic Equalizer, where low_gain is the low frequency loudness, mid-gain = middle frequency and high_gain = higher frequency. Units are decibels (dB), so to increase the volume, change the number to a higher value.
eg.
low_gain: -11.0
mid_gain: -21.0
high_gain: -27.0
to increase all by 6 dB:
low_gain: -5.0
mid_gain: -15.0
high_gain: -21.0
Since these are negative numbers, to increase the volume you make the values less negative and closer to zero.
Play around with the gains from each section to find the loudness you prefer. Eg. if you drive with your windows closed, you can just adjust the gains in .effect.add.window_eq.closed while leaving the others stock.

The trouble is the name in the first file of directory "Engine".SlavJerry wrote: 25 Feb 2024 07:37 @Yoko ok this is interesting. I also have the same error, but all engines are working fine. so that's something
If you rename the first mx.sii file, to the third row:
mx13_455.peterbilt.579.engine
And you change it to:
mx_13_455.peterbilt.579.engine
The problem no longer occurs.
Because obviously the game finds files named the same and creates the error on the console.
This must be done with all vehicles that use that engine...
Have a nice day...
EDIT:
With this mod the problem occurs with all the engine files, so you have to rename them all, following the links in the errors in the console.
I solved it like this:
By accessing the "Truck Upgrade" and scrolling through the various brands, errors are generated in the console.
Saving the game updates the game.log.
From there you can figure out how many files need to be renamed.
Be aware that if you rename the "Kenworth T680" and "Kenworth T680 2022" files in the same way, the error remains.
I solved it with "." instead of "_".
I hope it can help someone....
I write in very bad English ... Sorry!
