If you look a lot of them Are Prime, FedEx, JB Hunt, Walmart, Amazon, and Schneider. Yes they're on alot of trains, but there respective companies a own them out right. For Walmart they still own a vast fleet of trailers, plus an ever growing fleet of chassis. Schneider owns a ratio about 40/60 trailer to container, and JB Hunt I'd say is almost 50/50. The railroads that DO own their containers are Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, and CSXT. Most railroads use to own there own, but most have retired/sold them off to save money. BNSF partially owns all containers of the HUD group with BNSF reporting marks (those are the ID numbers on railroads), Union Pacific probably does not own any. The fact that the 53' boxes are on alot of trains is because the trucking companies benefit from not hiring as many drivers to move the same box the same distance. That's also why Walmart (of all entities) also switched to having these massive fleets of containers. Think of it this way, a convoy of 100-500 trucks, with one truck, and less rolling, aerodynamic resistance, and less traffic.Space_Night wrote: ↑16 Sep 2021 21:55 oooh nice
as for the 53ft cans, mainly railroad companies use them i think

While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Was looking at this pack to reskin for my own companies and stuff (more a fan of parody companies like SCS made than the real ones in my game). Though I use this mod from Steam for containers on flatbeds. (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 1921271263) Would it be possible to make an option for flatbed loads (even if just 20ft?) I tried to combine the two mods with no luck on my end.

@Bicycle_Cop I'll see what I can do, i need to check out this mod in detail. If I can do something about it, it'll be added in the next versions along with the 20ft Open Tops from the ETS2 version.

Awesome, Thanks for taking the time.
I believe 20ft ~ 40ft, seem to just be directly using SCS containers.
45 ft and 53 ft seem to be using adjusted models to better position them.

I tried the mod you mentioned and I don't think i'm going to add compatibility for it since it uses custom models, and also because the default SCS flatbeds aren't suited for containers since they don't have any twistlocks unlike the ETS2 ones.
If I wanted to keep my mod realistic I would have to change the model especially for the flatbeds and add some sort of chains or straps to secure the containers.
That's just too much effort for me right now. If SCS ever adds flatbeds suited for containers in the future I will gladly make my mod compatible with them.
Meanwhile, the next update is currently getting beta-tested.
It will include the 20ft Open Top from the last ETS2 update of my mod :

It will add also a similar AI Train add-on as the ETS2 version, also made by Krys Emlyn.
