Re: Questions for the american truckers
They set the Interstate limit to keep it standard. I'm not sure if they meant for it to standardize the entire industry, or if they just wanted a standard so as to not worry about for their own roads (they can save time by not having to design specific bridges and such for areas that might have heavier traffic).
However, because of the convenience of the Interstate system, iit has become a kind of standard for the entire industry.

Hello, how do you behave at an intersection where there are stop signs on all four sides? Does the right before left, and does the AI in the game?
Thx
Thx
Re: Questions for the american truckers
At a 4 way stop, where all four ways have a stop sign, it is usually the car that approached first has the right of way. If two cars approach at the same time abs are crossing paths, the car to the right has the right of way.

Thanks for your answer, in the game the AI is always very cooperative.

Re: Questions for the american truckers
I find those 4, or all way stop signs so confusing, i live in a country with very few stop signs, i only know of one and that makes sense because the driver can't see traffic coming from the side road, but in ATS, and on Google maps I see them at intersections without any (too large) obstructions to the drivers view, for me it would make more sense if there were no signs and the general rule applies where traffic coming from the right has right of way when all roads leading to the intersection are equal.

The stop sign is what indicates that there is a right of way rule. Without the stop sign you are telling each direction that they have right of way as there are no visual indicators.

Re: Questions for the american truckers
there is no difference if you have no signs or 4 stop signs, in both cases first come, first drive, if more then 1 comes, car to the right has right of way, if all 4 have a car waiting communicate who drives first and go from there, so no much sense behind placing signs somewhere where already rules exist how to behave, these kind of places exist many times in Germany without any signs to indicate what to do

Re: Questions for the american truckers
@Madkine, when traffic from all directions get the stop sign there is no indication to who has right of way (assuming all roads are equal), if at a 4 way intersection 4 cars approach it at the same time, who has right of way?
Without any sign I would know when it's my turn to go, and I assume the same rule applies with the stop signs, but they make things confusing.
In Europe when you see a stop sign you have to stop and give way to all traffic on intersecting roads (it's a just a stronger version of a yield sign in a way), and it's the same way in Australia, or at least where I lived.

Re: Questions for the american truckers
yield sign you have to give way but you dont need to stop and look if no traffic is coming, so you can roll into the road and if is is free drive, a stop sign forces you to stop, look if traffic is coming and then start driving, stop is mostly used on intersections that are not good on visibility so you are forced to pay attention
