Will the new Austria Rework have route 188?

The Silvretta Strasse? I don't think it's very likely. Western Austria is pretty tight, especially at 1:19 scale, so there's probably not enough space given that S16 and the Arlberg Tunnel will have to be there.

I didn't say the route [S16] but the [188] that is in Giggl to jetzmunt, on google I show that it is narrow in the same way as it is on Gryllefjord, 9380, Norway

But route 188 is a more alternative, but also only seasonally opened alternative to the S16, that certainly will be in the update. Question is, will there be enough space for it due to the scale. If it works it would definitely be a beautiful sight.

Re: ETS2 1.44 speculation thread
With the current fake rest times we have to stop every 34 minutes of game play. To simulate the IRL legal 4,5h small rest stop; we should had to stop every 14 minutes.
It's not just we would be having to rest at every moment; is that if we pretend to simulate IRL, the stop would barely need to be of 47 seconds. Not to mention that the whole map would had to be crammed with gas stations everywhere.
To port to the game the rest rules of IRL has no sense due the time and size scale. For somebody who would play on moded maps at higher scales it could be different.

Re: ETS2 1.44 speculation thread
we dont need reststops everywhere but a bit more the usual for sure, what we need first is the ability to also rest in the truck, also for the pause you dont need an area to sleep, you just need to turn of the truck and set the tachograph to pause and then dont move for the next 15 minutes and not a second early or the time wont be counted

Re: ETS2 1.44 speculation thread
Good point, I completely forgot the possibility that SCS could allow "in cabin" rests and that the small pause only implies to stop the engine.
But that doesn't change the main point: For the game to simulate those IRL time schedules, players who would play this way should had to stop every 15 minutes. What value would add this to the game play? Realism? Whoever that is so hardcore sim lover can do it already. Nothing prevents them to park the truck, stop the engine and wait those 48 seconds to pass to simulate the 15min rest stop before turning on the engine again.
At least the time schedule as it's now and the forced need to rest only on designated areas does add something to game play. We have to plan our routes, we have to be aware of timings (easier now with the way points ETA) and we have to consider delays we could have in our plan.
The ironic part is: Even if the time schedule isn't realistic; the game forces us to do exactly what every trucker IRL tries always to accomplish. Because even if they can do the normal shift pause or sleep rest whenever they can park the truck, nobody wants to have to do it at the side of a road in the middle of nowhere because the damn tacho ran out of time. So they plan their trips accordingly to search suitable and "decent" places where to park and rest.
I don't see SCS losing time on that "realistic" tacho version. I hope that if they decide to add changes towards realism, they pick something else from the veeeeery long list of "to-do" they already have.

Re: ETS2 1.44 speculation thread
with current tachos you get a notification at 4:15 driving time and 4:30 driving time.. so you have some time to get to the restspot..
also parkings should also be suitable to fit double trailers in countries that allow double trailers..
IRL thats also a problem than drivers cant fit thier trucks in the parkingspot..
and the tacho has also got the option "out of scope".. if you run out of drivingtime you can pull out the tachocard and continue driving to the nearest restspot..
this is highly illigal when you get caught.. but it can be done...
also i recieved an mail from my planner that every truckdriver that passes the border needs to enter in its tacho that he is leaving one country and entering the other one to track down in the tacho when you left the country... ( this starts from february 2nd)
