Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

[REL] Western Star 5700XE Rework

#1 Post by Seerman » 12 Dec 2021 09:34

Hi guys! This page was previously dedicated to my rework of an old WS 5700XE mod. For more than a year, I studied all kinds of brochures and various photos of this truck.
During this time, I fell in love with this truck and was looking forward to its version from the SCS.
So. Using my knowledge, I decided to start this page again. The WS 5700 rework from SCS is now here!

The first thing I started with was fixing the color schemes of the interiors. In the presented track from the SCS, they are all incorrect.
In addition, too dark textures immerse the player in hopeless darkness. Time to fix it!

Also in my plans:
- add various external parts for a variety of customization,
- add high-quality classic steering wheels,
- add gear lever with a clutch pedal, etc.

Did you fix the openable windows? I was thinking about reworking the truck too but I'm not good at animations.

Great to hear! It's not a truck I've seen a lot of but definitely excited to drive it :)

I went into the catalogs of the Western Star and worked diligently on the interiors. It will not work ideally, since in many places the correct geometry is not initially consistent. But this goal was not worth it.
It was important for me to bring the mod to full working order.

I think this is a really cool truck that you can enjoy your time with :)
