Austria Rework Discussion
Re: Austria Rework Discussion
@oldmanclippy I now realize my pics are pretty low quality, since they were pasted in a Word file before being saved as images. So feel free to remove my list and leave only the ones from @TINO, which are more and have a much better resolution!

@Virtual_Driver Yes I think he will come, I also think that California will come in 1.44
Re: Austria Rework Discussion
Can't wait to enjoy this rebuild. Hopefully will follow Switzerland and ... Pyrenees roads
Re: Austria Rework Discussion
It should get few (small) towns and villages. The density is tiny compared to other countries, but then most of the country is covered in mountains. It could benefit from few roads here and there, and maybe said towns along the way.

Hi there,
I don't know how far we are from a release of Austria actual..
But I have seen the stream and heared what Pavel Sebor told us. This is not only a refurbish or rebuild of already existing stuff, this time they deleted the old Austria completely and started from scratch. It was something like an experiment and if it works, what it really look like, they will proceed this way with all other countries that need a rebuild.
Thinking on great Britain will then also come completely new build, going east will also be a big challenge when they delete their old Poland, slowakia and Hungary..
And this will be also a challenge for map mods which have now made improvements and extensions of old vanilla places.
Promods and Eu0roadnet will have to deal with massive changes and will see if their work let space for merging..
Edit.
This Screenshots are breathtaking! I am very looking forward to it.. And since this Austria will be completely new I can imagine that some new roads and some new cities can appear.. And it can also be likely that the german A7 will get the connection to Austria down to Innsbruck

MG Mike I do not think that mod cards will have any problems. like the Promods with release of Iberia DLC, their old slice of Spain has simply been completely removed from their map mods.
сomplete rework from scratch allows for better quality than just reskin.
yep, the only thing is it takes more time. therefore, I would not mind paying for such work. get new born GoingEast DLC or UK, Irland DLC. heck, looking at the screenshots of new Austria, I agree with Nemiro. that you want to buy ETS2 again.
and in order to get at least a part of the old territories in a similar quality much faster, I would pay for it. this kind of work is amazing, who did it, and DLС are not so expensive that it would be critical not to support these people.
the complete rework of Austria is simply amazing. the spirit of Austria and the atmosphere are conveyed incredibly.
I waited and hoped to get a remaster of Austria at least close to the quality and appearance of Colorado DLС. but what we get, judging by the screenshots, it surpasses even the incredible DLC Colorado.
honestly, I did not even expect that such beauty is possible in ETS 2. developers at SCS are real wizards.

After Austria get's released (Let's hope for 1.44), I'll definitely move my HQ to one of it's cities... Judging by the screenshots provided, the quality could surpass some areas in Iberia.

Two more locations I think I've located in Google Maps:
7 and 8. One of the bends of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road.

12. Several horseshoe curves made by the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. Probably the descent to the north side from the Füscher Torl Pass.

13. Red bridge over the Möll river near Winklern.

Another location I found on google maps after I visited this place on my previous summer holidays.
Pic 4 is a part of the B164 in the city center of "Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer":
