Improving the detail of German cities. First iteration. v1.0

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

Improving the detail of German cities. First iteration. v1.0

#1 Post by Kororuz » 03 Jan 2022 19:23

Well... It's time for publication. ;)

UPDATE v1.0
* Fixed, replaced, removed inappropriate billboards;
* Added little things I forgot to add;
* One old building has been replaced for beginning.
This is a small update

Let me remind you that this modification changes the appearance of German cities. SCS Software missed cities when they updated German roads. In the future, they will definitely return and finish work. But this future may not come soon. So I decided to fix it a little bit right now.

The modification includes all 22 cities represented in the game at the moment. The structure of cities has not changed. The scenery has changed, which qualitatively changes the perception of the game. That "camouflage" mod in real. I did not seek to recreate real places - no. This is just a change in appearance, a departure from the same type of cities, from noticeable patterns in their structure.

This is the first modification. In the future, I want to try to change some old prefabs of companies, but for this, I will have to resort to the help of a 3D editor. This is not a quick process.

To function this modification, you need all the DLC maps that appeared before 2022. In addition, I will be grateful to all those who write to me about the problems found in this modification. I'll try to fix them. The modification includes only those sectors in which there are cities. Compatibility with other user maps is not yet provided. I'm sorry.

Thanks for the attention, all good luck! (...and sorry for my English)

Looks pretty good although it's common knowledge that SCS is in the process of updating central Europe, in particular Germany and France...

The third phase of the German upgrade was completed. I do not think that the developers will soon return to Germany because of the cities. Now they will use the experience of the new Austria in other countries of central Europe.
