Road to Black Sea DLC very bad performance despite recent CPU upgrade

#1 Post by Simulationworld2020 » 19 Jan 2022 12:20

Hello guys,

I carefully checked the requirements for Road to the Black Sea and according to Steam I should be able to run the DLC without any issues. Unfortunately the DLC is barely running. I have everything set to low and even that didn't help. Not even the CPU upgrade I made yesterday. Τhe lag is so bad that even the radio is constantly freezing for a few seconds. I also contacted official SCS support via e mail. Noteworthy to mention that in my Nvida control panel I've set everything for Ets2 to prioritize maximum performance over quality. Any help would be very much appreciated. A nice day to all of you and happy truckin'
My specs :
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel Core 2 Quad 2,40 Ghz ( before the upgrade : Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2,93 Ghz)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 2GB
6 GB RAM

Q6600 is a 15 years old CPU. What would you expect?
I have approximate knowledge of many things

And the Q6600 CPU has a lower single core performance than your Core 2 Duo E7500:

It is still supported however. I fulfill all minimum requirements to run the game according to Steam. Why did Steam post those requirements then if they are false and why didn't SCS update them?

Please consider the fact that I did everything to improve my PC and you are telling me that it was all for nothing?

Is there anyone here who has an official answer or is working at SCS? It's simple if the requirements listed on Steam are wrong why does SCS not update them? The system requirements for Road to the Black Sea are the same as of the base game. At my local IT shop they assured me that a quad core processor is way faster. Just because some people can afford a hyper expensive gaming PC doesn't mean that everyone can. I'm really frustrated people! You tell me that all my money I invested was for nothing ?

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7
Processor: Dual core CPU 2.4 GHz
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: GeForce GTS 450-class (Intel HD 4000)
Hard Drive: 12 GB available space

I'm literally way above all those requirements.

As you can see from the benchmarks @skyking_eam kindly posted, your 'upgrade' does not improve single thread performance.
Sorry, that your IT shop made a generalized statement that was misleading.

Performance will be better for parallelized applications but not for single thread limited applications like ETS 2.

there is nothing to update, the game as is still runs on the lowest settings with this hardware they have listed for minimum and your CPU is the bottleneck, especially because you "upgraded" to a 15 year old CPU wich is a totally nonsensical move

also GPU is listed as GTX760, did they change it? i faintly remember it to be a GTX750
