Flat bed loads for sliding tarp/curtain side

#1 Post by NickChevyOne » 28 Jan 2022 01:10

Not sure why this isn’t already in place as that is the purpose of these style trailers. Should be easy enough to remove that restriction as visually it wouldn’t make a difference and most flat bed loads do fit within that given space.

The technical name for that is curtain sider. Its a flatbed with a wall kit basically and its one of the last trailer types that isn't in ATS. They actually use to be in the game but when 1.32 came to bring trailer ownership, SCS started remaking trailers and came up with Cargo Market. We pretty much have a poll here though. viewtopic.php?p=1017718#p1017718

I know the difference between them. I’m referring to the game not allowing us to take flat bed loads in the sliding tarp trailers. Currently the only load that we can is fertilizer.

I get the loads you are referring to. I am letting you know your naming convention is not correct. You are going to confuse someone speaking in the wrong terminology. So I'm not sure if you are accepting corrections, but your wording for the trailer type is not correct. The posted pic is not a sliding tarp either. That is a curtain sider trailer. A sliding tarp trailer is the link below. Its a totally different type of trailer kit. Sliding tarps don't have straps like curtain siders and with sliding tarps, the entire kit slides. Curtain siders, only the tarp sides slide, the shell stays in place.

I understand we only have sliding tarp and that we use to have curtain sides in the game. I said tarp/ curtain incase they would understand there is a difference and add them back in seeing what we commonly use over the other. The picture was actually the best I could find at the time just to try to demonstrate the type of loads I’m referring too, not the trailer itself. I haul in real life and am aware of the various trailers and occasionally use a curtain side or the odd time a china top.

Awesome. Another real life trucker on board.

I sure hope they add them back in. This community is pretty good with guiding SCS though. Most times, they make corrections pretty quick or at least note thing with QA numbers to fix later. They have their way of reaching out to get the right answers though. Actually, when they did bring the sliding tarps, SCS called them curtain siders. I wrote a bug report back in the day correcting them and they changed it reallll quick. So they are on it when it comes to terminology.

I talked about curtain siders making a return several years ago though. I'm still waiting.
