So you thought that detour was annoying...

You thought that detour in game was annoying?
Due to flooding on the Stuart Hwy (which connects Adelaide to Darwin via Alice Springs), trucks carrying supplies between Adelaide to Alice Springs must now make a detour of around 3,000km (1,900mi).

(The major road marked in the middle is unsealed, unsuitable for normal highway trucks and given the current weather is prone to closure at any moment).

Only 42 hours, wasn't there an accident or two in between Western Aus and Norther Territories that created a 72 hour detour?

That's the difference between a game and real life. :D ;)

When you're playing a game you want to enjoy or relax and not stress, unless someone is masochist ...

So detours, go away!!! ...

Port Augusta to Alice Springs was one of my favorite drives in the last 18 WoS game. I think it was called "Extreme Truckers" or something like that. The downside of it was that it was complete corridor driving, but for it's time it was a great truck game. To my knowledge it was the only game out there that let you drive road trains.

Well... currently every road that branches of the highway (A2) between Longreach and Mt Isa is closed as well. So that's certainly a possibility. Mate of mine drove that way yesterday and said there were areas with shallow water over the highway.
