[WIP] [Rel] Paris 1:1 Map [1.49]

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

I just "discovered" this map, and so far I am loving it!

Normally I don't play on early releases like this, but I have to say even the missing textures here and there are not bothering me. Very much looking forward to seeing how this progresses :)

Hello.
I just visited the Louvre and I had a funny idea:
What if you use a toll gate where we have to pay an entrace fee for one adult? And at the exit, it would just be 0€
😄
Also the idea with the drive through museums is great!
If something is not round, it has then edges or it is broken.

I've been working on polishing this map for the past few days and I've been given the go-ahead and am ready to post a patch for this early WIP aiming to give players a more 'finished' experience.

Modifications include:

•All placeholder antennas removed.

•License plate generation and fonts fixed. Also, department stickers on plates now spawn with probabilities based on the plate stickers you'd most commonly see inside Paris (60% Paris, 18% Inner Île-de-France, 12% Outer Île-de-France, the remaining 10% is a mix of departements of other major cities in France).

•AI spawn rate should now be heavy inside of Paris proper, moderate in the suburbs, and extreme in the Périph and Autoroutes.

•Prominent buildings like most La Défense skyscrapers, the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Montparnasse Tower, are now visible well beyond 1500 meters.

•Lots of models around the Montmartre area have had their max view distances reduced, as well as some cut planes added, to majorly reduce/eliminate the glitching in the area caused by excess of objects being drawn. That ruins the view from Montmartre but it's not like you could enjoy it while the ground beneath you is disappearing and everything is flickering.

•Traffic light models now look more similar to the ones you'd find in the Paris region. Their light cycle has also been changed to the one used in France (no red+amber phase before the green).

•No-weather areas added to most tunnels.

•Models used for the Saint-Lazare and Nord train stations, École Militaire, Invalides, and the Paris Tribunal building have been re-done.

•Countless bugfixes. Mostly fixes to floating objects, objects blocking roads and some tiny roads inappropriately being allowed to be used by AI traffic.

Be aware that increased AI traffic heavily impacts FPS during night-time. Avoid driving at night.

The more I play this map, the more I like it.

My current gripe, and this is not restricted to this map, is the inability to zoom in on the Quick Job map. It's bad enough with the normal SCS maps, but with the density of this map it makes it INCREDIBLY hard!

If anyone can give me hints or tweaks on how to zoom in, I'd be grateful. I've searched for mods to allow it, but failed

Hello! I really enjoy your map. The map is great and I love the small roads. But there is an invisible wall in the recruitment agency. I hope you can fix soon.

How do I get this map working?

I have followed the instructions up to "On the profile creation, choose the playing module Parisv2.mdb" except there is no module other than 'Europe'

If I create a new profile and just have the Paris mod activated the game crashes on loading..

I assume the zip file "Paris121 Alpha Jan23.scs.zip" should just be renamed 'Paris121 Alpha Jan23.scs' and placed in the mod folder?

You have to create a new profile and when you are on the screen where choosing your company name, gender, etc... you have to click on the MOD icon in the left corner (If I remember correctly) - there you activate Paris mod, confirm and now you can choose Paris map from the dropdown map menu.

Thanks, I didnt even see that..

Is it possible to transfer money/xp from another profile to my Paris one?

No, that's not possible, the profiles are completely independent.

There are profile editing tools which you can use to give more money or XP, but that's taking the fun of the drive away :)
