Latest update - 1.43.2.27s - Now crashing ATS also force closes Steam

ATS crashing upon loading into game at very end of yellow bar logs created from a new Vanilla profile

as for the game.crash - I had updated my driver to current nvidia 511.xx after that ATS crashes taking steam with and is not able to produce a crash log but i do have a link to crash before the driver update

As you are using a controller.....

Remove any Steam controller set up information for ATS and use the input wizard in game. Give this a try and see what happens.

Also having the same issue. The game crashes to desktop and hard crashes steam with it.

I don't have a crash report as it won't create one with this crash.

The problem does seem to be with the steam controller but I cannot seem to resolve it. I tried a vanilla game and a modded game with the controller off and it worked fine, so its not any mod that I have installed. Either type of game with the controller active crashes out when I attempt to drive the truck. I tried disabling steam input in steam and setting up the controller through the in-game wizard, but that did not work. I also tried resetting the controller config for the game (setting it to gamepad) and it doesn't seem to stay reset and switches back to the ATS standard setup automatically. I also tried opening Big Picture and turning off the controller supports, again with no success.

1) Opt out of Steam Beta. (This was probably the problem)
2) Disable Steam Controller Input per game in Steam
3) Load game
4) Go directly to controller config wizard
5) Set up for Steam Controller
6) BEFORE CLOSING WIZARD, set up the controller config (bottom of screen). Even if already set, re-search for and re-apply the official controller map
7) Finish wizard

Hopefully this works for someone else too. Fixed both my ATS and ETS2.

Thank you brother this Fixed it for me finnaly! Even making a pure Vanilla profile on a fresh install would crash ATS! But the steps you provided worked like a Charm! would seem that latest patch scuffed steam input somehow (AGAIN) , unfortunatly my 700hr profile got corrupted during the constant crashing, steam cloud could not find save and my local broke aswell along with it, but atleast i can play again Thanks man!

the game creates a backup after every update, look into the profile folder with version numbers in it

I am using the PS / 4 controller to play ETS2 and ATS.
After the game was updated, I start playing games, then the game crashed.
Even if I change the controller (PS / 4> Xbox One Controller),
When I don't use the controller, and I re-enter the game, ETS2 and ATS can play normally.
But after I use the controller again, the game crash will occur.

At present, I can enter the game normally in accordance with your suggestion.
It was a pity that the next layer setting that it can't provide at Steam Controller.

Looking forward to recovering with the original Steam Controller compatibility in the next version update.
