ATS 1.44 Discussion
Re: ATS 1.44 Discussion
I think I noticed this on the I-5 between Medford and Eugene today, car in front went down to 20 mph or so for no clear reason. I’m not sure if there was a weigh station around, but it sure was an unpleasant surprise.
Re: ATS 1.44 Discussion
I have a theory they're slowing down because there is traffic entering on an on-ramp ahead. That would explain the two locations I reported. I guess it helps traffic to enter but they should never slow down more than a couple MPH. It would be better if they'd move to a further lane.

Re: ATS 1.44 Discussion
Yeah, the way it is after 1.44 really shouldn't stay. They should change it. The most annoying part about it is, at least in my experience, cars that just passed the player and move back over the right lane essentially brake check the player when they do this. It can get very irritating, especially on a long drive where it can happen to you multiple times. To avoid this for now, I've just been switching to the left lane before approaching a weigh station on rest area so I can keep driving without having to brake for whatever shenanigans the traffic is up to.

Re: ATS 1.44 Discussion
The brake checking bothers me a little: the complete disregard for physics bothers me more. I can barely follow an Ai semi because when he brakes (especially in towns with many stoplights), his speed drops from say 35 to 0 in the length of the truck.
If they just made that braking distance realistic and increased the "reading" distance, it would make things so much better.

Seems to me most if not all A.I. traffic issues I've encountered are around prefabs, I could have sworn I saw a couple of lines in a blog post that SCS was going to make improvements to the A.I. with this last update, but it may have been wishful thinking.

The AI in the right lane slowing down to let traffic from the ramp in is bad. At least in reworked Cali the AI slow down way before the entry ramp, even before you see the entry ramp. So, its annoying that they do that and I hope SCS fixes it.

So far so good with this one.

@seriousmods that’s the reason I keep my breaking intensity above where I’d like it to be realistically. I know they messed around with AI truck acceleration back around Washington. Hopefully they mess around with the breaking, too.

Smart! I'm over here running a 70 ton cargo mod and grossing like 190k on 5 axles lol. A bit unrealistic, but it feels like a truck.

Dam, Ets2 Also have that Traffic bug problem. v: Kinda hoping the bug doesn't have to reported individually.
