Why can't you turn the engine on when buying a truck?

#1 Post by brotrechner » 23 Apr 2022 10:23

I would like to be able to turn the engine of the truck on when purchasing. Without being able to do so, I have no idea what it sounds like, nor do I know what will be on the dashboard computers (especially with the new DAF this is really annoying). I shouldn't have to google for pictures online to see what the dash looks like when it's on. If I am going at the dash for potentially hundreds of hours of IRL time, I want to know what it looks like first

Maybe a test drive facility at the dealerships would be good?

You can test-drive pretty much any default truck by doing quick jobs.

However, this feature (turning on the engine in dealer) could be usefull for mod trucks.

The whole buying experience is nothing like real life, starting with financing. How many people get financing on a vehicle as they are purchasing, rather than before they walk into the door? In these games, I can have my truck all completed, and when I go to pay, I have to start over because there is no way to borrow money from the dealer.

And don't even get me started on game crashes as soon as you buy a truck or not having enough "slots" in a garage and again losing your whole build.

Yes, we all know your position, every aspect of the game is bad

I have never and will never say that. There are some parts that are bad. There are many parts that are unrealistic. There are some parts that are good.

It's a nice and useful idea, but I'm not sure if Scs' programmers can do something like this.

Can and will are separated by desire and direction. They could do a lot of things if allowed to do so, but I think Pavel is running things in a very strict manner and not allowing team members to kinda go their own routes within the framework of the game.
