Hardcore simmers in flight sims are far smaller in numbers than flithy casual you complain about.
SCS knows exactly what they are there doing will add new games features if they work with the game and enchanced driving experience.
Say, 85% of users drive to relax not treat it as real job.

abasstreppas, some of that stuff could be nice to do now and then, but not always.
Drivers? I did use to select priority skills etc.
But now? I let the game handle it.

on the workshop? I didn't mention anything about map mods; prefabs, and cargo mods. And was very specific about them.

I think you mean that SCS knows where they're going? Hey, nobody wants to take away the relaxed driving ability the game currently provides.angrybirdseller wrote: ↑18 May 2022 18:54 Hardcore simmers in flight sims are far smaller in numbers than flithy casual you complain about.

fair enough. you have your game enjoy. By the way, I have to ask; when you go to the supermarket and have to find a spot to park, do you find that stressful?abasstreppas wrote: ↑18 May 2022 17:26 For me it would be nice to walk around and fill diesel, connecting air-hoses, unloading/loading cargo and other stuff... one, two, maybe three times. After that it would be boring. I did feel the same thing about the economic part of the game. I did have drivers in my company during the first year (2013) after that I've never used it and I don't look back.
For me this game is about driving in a relaxed way, listening to the radio. I don't care much about micromanaging a company, there are other games for that. Also the thing that made ETS2 a success in the beginning were just the "non stress" factor of the game. You are just supposed to drive from A to B. I think the majority of the users still uses the game in the same way.

And you have collected data on this 85% how? Could you also define relaxation? I drive tons of miles for work, and find many of them relaxing. What is this relaxation some of you describe? Using zero brain power to complete a task?angrybirdseller wrote: ↑18 May 2022 18:54 Hardcore simmers in flight sims are far smaller in numbers than flithy casual you complain about.

Relaxing is simply doing things you don't need or have to do. If you're having a relaxing drive at your work, you still can't turn around and go the opposite direction, or just stop for a walk in the woods. You still have a task to complete when you are working, so relaxing when working are actually a paradox as you are never totally relaxed in the meaning of the word

Actually I can, and have many a time. I've taken walks on the beach on trips. I've stopped at many a viewpoint to check out the view. I enjoy my trips because that's part of doing them.abasstreppas wrote: ↑18 May 2022 21:54 Relaxing is simply doing things you don't need or have to do. And many truck drivers (I am not one) do the same. Yes, they have to drive, but they still make the most out of the good moments.
When most SCS fans describe relaxing, I envision like someone playing a game half asleep. No mental processes needed.

That sound like me
Seriously I often tend to fall asleep when driving in the game. Still haven't been in any major accidents, yet
