Proposal of typical vehicles for AI traffic that are still missing (tbc)

I'm sorry to disappoint you but those vehicles are supposedly based on the current-gen Traverse and the Blazer EV, just with changed designs. So those points aren't valid at the time because they're either too distant to see or it's too similar to other vehicles (which happens a lot with many vehicles). It's better to judge what it is based on when it actually spawns in-game through the open betas first rather than a blog screenshot or blog video.

Also: Let me restate that modeling any vehicle takes some time. Sure, with the right references (minimal as they need be; just provide the make/model, year range, and brief description) and the preliminary shape, they can be done easily. News flash, however: Modeling any asset (such as a vehicle for traffic) requires A LOT of rendering, UV mapping, texturing, and a whole lot more details to hammer out before they will see the light of day. That and having interior textures and driver/passenger nodes too - plus unique rims (which they really need to do). And then there's the process of coding said vehicle to the game world....

All of this can take quite a while (I suspect about a year or two) especially if you factor in variants. Just a point of order. But honestly, it would be nice if the new AI vehicles weren't another similar-looking SUV. Would be nice if an actual minivan would show up and have two vehicles addressed and removed from the game (you know what they are).

Plus, those two new AI traffic cars were likely in development long before I made those posts about those two vehicles I added to the wishlist. The Blazer EV lookalike was sighted in the LA gameplay video which was temporarily disabled.

Reputed as America's bestseller for multiple consecutive years, the tenth-gen F-150 almost certainly deserves its attention to ATS. With over 750,000 models built yearly at the time, it's not hard to see why it became so popular with construction firms, ranchers, and the varsity crews in the 90s and beyond. For this entry, we'd like to introduce it with various bodystyle variations, including its regular cab model, the extended cab model, the SuperCrew model, and best of all, the highly sought-after, street-cred friendly SVT Lightning model. This architecture was later adopted into the Expedition SUV.

The conventional Subaru of choice for the everyday driver. Sure, it may be too similar to its WRX cousin that exists in ATS, but a basic model shouldn't be forgotten about. The hatchback model itself is a looker and it's definitely most Impreza-ive.

2022-present Genesis GV60 (JW)
One of the most fashionable and stylistic Genesis models to exist today. This Korean EV, like other models, was practically designed with clay molding and an original approach to design, resulting in one of the most curvature-laden EVs to exist today. It is also sold in Europe.

I am happy to confirm the Land Cruiser 250 has now crossed over to ATS.

Now all that is missing from the ETS2 list is... a lot of it. Still no Jeep Renegade, no current Volvo XC60 (yet) and the S-Max is still present.

Late reply but believe it or not; I was actually going to say the Chevrolet Blazer EV again because... it is more likely that same AI traffic EV featured in the Louisiana gameplay preview video from October last year, having teased alongside the other AI traffic car based on the second-generation Chevrolet Trax (the latter was added in 1.57 update):

...but then I forgot something; the Blazer EV also has siblings (Honda Prologue, Acura ZDX and Cadillac Optiq) and did once used them last year. I also realized that you've proposed the Cadillac Optiq here before, which from that, when I use the Optiq and start comparing the three vehicles...

Well, at least I was really wrong back then, thanks to that rear reveal; it might be fictionalized (as it also did last year) but it's clearly a Cadillac Optiq with Chevrolet-style taillights (albeit with the inner-part lights in the trunk area removed). In fact, the sloping rear (especially the greenhouse area) with that rear windshield and spoiler designs, as well the A- and B-pillar window designs, were very much closer to the Optiq. Additionally, the rear door window design appears to missing the small quarter window (unlike the Blazer EV has).

Thanks for defending me, just to note that AI traffic EV was also cameo in the Louisiana gameplay preview video from October last year (totally forgotten that lol). Besides, not only he got that EV wrong, he even got that new full-size SUV wrong too, despite I got here late after he already reaffirmed that since the release of the Illnois gameplay preview video;

That's clearly the current-gen Navigator because seems SCS actually kept that vehicle's main upper headlights (of course with minor changes too for copyright-free purposes). If it's a Traverse, the main upper lights would be more slit and only houses the DRLs since its headlights use the typical modern split-style design.

The conventional "jellybean" model was a substantial improvement over the previous generation, and plenty of models can still be found two decades later. Many were turned into fleet models and there does exist a wagon version. And we need these in ATS, 'cause the game is lacking in everyday vehicles.

Have you ever driven a Thunderbird... lately? The 1989 model followed alongside its similar platform relative, the Mercury Cougar and had seen success. All T-Birds built within this era were built in Ohio, and many can still be found in circulation today in used car markets.

For the 2026 model, priorities have changed with the new Sentra. A redesigned bodystyle, decent powertrains, and essentially the last Nissan sedan standing, this new model should hold out for a while.

2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma - Rugged Japanese Pickup Extraordinaire
Back in the mid-aughts, this compact pickup truck model had all the hallmarks of legendary Japanese reliability and the rugged dependability you could afford. So much so that we are going to dole this model out in several variations, including the performance-oriented X-Runner model. I will add its later model down the line but these could provide for new pickup models that can be sighted in American roads or in a parking lot. Many were taken in as personal vehicles and fleet models.

2005-2021 Nissan Frontier (D40) - Budget-Friendly Japanese Truck
This model (known in some countries as the Navara) was, and still is, infamous for its 15-year run on American shores. While the rest of the world moved on to Renault-sourced pickups, Nissan stayed true to its roots with the iconic Frontier model, which was built alongside its frame-body Pathfinder SUV. The model went through various small changes over its decade-and-a-half run, and though it was older by the time it was ready to be replaced, it still has its moments. Once a popular, rugged pickup truck, now pretty much an ancient truck that had been trapped in time. Shown here is the original 2005 model of both its King Cab and the four-door models.

2022-present Rivian R1T and R1S - A Charming Startup EV Company's Signature Model
For this two-for-one special, we want to include these models down the line. Since we now have a Rivian-based van coming our way, it would also be a good time to bring both the R1S SUV and the R1T pickup trucks. Both have been offered in small quantities as of late, but these models have proven themselves well to earn its place in the dwindling EV market.

2027-present Kia Telluride - A Korean SUV With Range Rover Vibes
This new model just found its way into journalists' hands, which makes it natural that it should get a video game appearance, albeit in unlicensed form. This redesigned model now sports a more Range Rover-esque look.

2026-present Honda Prelude Hybrid - A Modern-Day Prelude Revival
The reinvented Honda Prelude is sleek, gorgeous and definitely deserves some recognition. The new model is currently in limited quantities for now, but I really hope it can hold out long enough given the situation at hand. We'll see how it goes as time moves on, but for now, this should be a good addition nonetheless. It is also sold in Europe, which means I plan to add it there soon.

There's a reason why I am so hesitant to bring these models into the suggestions, as plans and priorities can change at hand, especially with brands.

@halbtollekreatur Forwarding this for you from recent posts to The Dakotas thread; the recent South Dakota blogpost have teased, not one, but THREE more AI traffic vehicles:

If stands correct, the silver AI traffic car appears to be based on the sixth-generation Ford Explorer (U625), likely could also paving a way for a new AI traffic police vehicle based on the second-generation Ford Police Interceptor Utility (FPIU). Its front fascia suggest it is modeled after the facelifted MY2025 version.

The red AI traffic car is obviously based on the eighth-generation Dodge Charger in its four-door sedan configuration. The presence of what appears to be dual exhausts means this would be based on the inline-six Sixpack variant over the Daytona EV.

Only the last two was hard to ID, but I'm assuming the last one with the rear spare tire may likely to be a variation to the blue traffic car in the third cropped pic. What we do know that it appears to be some kind of off-road-type (and possibly monocoque-based?) SUV.

2002-2006 Cadillac Escalade
As one of the models based on the Chevrolet Suburban/Tahoe architecture, the Escalade certainly has its charm and urban appeal. This model was iconic for its various media, namely, hip-hop music videos, and these models still withstood the test of time two decades later. I will be listing all three variations of the Escalade for the purpose of variety for the time being. The traditional Suburban/Tahoe model is in the suggestion cards next.

Yes, we know there is a licensed model on the way, but that isn't for AI traffic. Which is why we're offering a slightly altered version of the fully redesigned Frontier for ATS in both King Cab and the four-door version.

2021-present BMW 4-series (G22 / G23)
For the new 4-series, BMW opted to offer this in the most unappealing grille design in the form of the bucktooth grille. And yes, it is that bad. I haven't the slightest clue why BMW chose this when the rest of the vehicle definitely looks nice. Luckily for you, SCS, you can make it into a singular grille which would be a lot better. The updated 4-series comes in both coupe and convertible models and there is the M4 (see below) for more variety. There is also the Gran Coupe model, which also includes the i4 electric model.

2021-present BMW M4 (G82)
The redesigned M4 still looks good other than the grille itself, but this performance model should also be the reason why we need more sports cars into ATS and ETS2. It has an aggressive bodykit to stand out, and it is more than enough to tag this as a "performance" vehicle in the files.
