Forwarding this here to inform y'all they modeled a minivan, finally. Here's the photo:
[ external image ]
Photo courtesy of Ness on the 1.59 OB thread

Unfortunately, SCS made this minivan (in this case the current Kia Carnival) into the form of a European MPV look. They got most of the design right and it looks good, but it is really jarring they designed it with swing-out doors, something the US hates in their minivans.

Moreover for them disliking that feat, also including these "oddballs":

(Before someone ask me; no, I don't hate those three above actually)

Speaking of @Ness discovering things and posted over the 1.59 Open Beta thread that should also be forwarded to this thread...
[ external image ]
Other than the minivan, we can now also see the previously-seen AI traffic electric car (shown a few times barely since the Louisiana Gameplay preview video back in October last year) more in-depth, thanks to his screencap above. My speculations of what it's based on is 100% correct, it is indeed based on the Cadillac Optiq. The fifth-generation Lincoln Navigator (U718)-inspired SUV and the eletric delivery step-van, also previously shown in pre-release screenshots leading up to 1.59 OB, were also been confirmed to present in the files.

Never seen in pre-release screenshots prior to 1.59 Open Beta announcement are two additional sedan-type cars but as I already said in the 1.59 OB thread, I can't make up what these two cars are actually based on, without filenames/other views to show. Speculating the fourth red car is some type of modern-day station wagon.

Also new-but-never-teased is some type of box truck... well specifically, a cube van, shown in the very last right. Also pointed by me in the 1.59 OB thread, it could assume to be a callback to the cube van from 18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker series (18WOS:ET1; 18WOS:ET2).

@RushCars24ID I tried asking for the other two's other side views and the like and got no reply... so I don't know. Also that boxvan isn't a callback to anything Extreme Trucker. That was actually requested for quite some time now, especially the OP.

Okay, so here are some new vehicles to pen and add into ATS in the future. Enjoy!

1965-1970 Ford Mustang (pre-1971 models)
The first-gen Mustang is iconic for a reason and we know it is coming to Road Trip. Sadly, that 1967 model won't be for traffic. What I can offer, for traffic, is a similar model of that vintage, for both the 1965 model and the 1968 model (the latter being known as the "Bullitt" Mustang). It comes in standard coupe, Fastback and convertible variations.

1965 model

[ external image ]

Convertible variant
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

1968 model (this one we can use in traffic in lieu of its licensed counterpart)
[ external image ]
[ external image ]
I would specially request this proposed '68 model be Bullitt-based, without the inner lights on the grille and some subtle changes to its general design to be legally distinct. There should also be a beater version, as well as a customized version with pinstripes and hotrod-esque rims.

2026-present Toyota C-HR
Yes, this model did come back to us, but unlike the previous model (and one used worldwide), this model sports a less revolting design and excellent hybrid powertrain. It's known as the C-HR+ in Europe (and therefore can be transferred there). There is also a Subaru Uncharted model based on this very model. I would want both a la BeamNG, because variety.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2022-present Mercedes-Benz SL (R232)
For whatever reason Mercedes chose to make the long-running SL a four-seat convertible rather than a pure roadster, as that has been taken by the AMG GT. Still quite a fun car to go along with it.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2026-present Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 - Special mention goes to this ultra-luxurious roadster, as it is the only one so far to be a true two-seat roadster.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2004-2015 Nissan Titan (A60)
Cheap, affordable, and similar to the Frontier, it had been around for quite a long while. While it did get a better redesign come 2016, these older Titans - which would underpin the Armada and the vaunted Infiniti models - still hold up, if not in rough shape. I listed both the King Cab and crew cab models.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

Crew Cab variant
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2004-2009 Nissan Quest (V42)
A largely forgettable minivan with a mechanically sound engine and well... not much good to speak of. Still would love to see this forgotten minivan into ATS. I have mandated that it must have sliding doors.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2018-2023 Chevrolet Traverse
Just another GM SUV product that would fit the Caliber lore. Now it's a secondhand SUV of choice for families.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2024-present Chevrolet Traverse
This redesigned model should impress as it has been offered in several more countries, and this RS model should fit the bill. This also would fit the Caliber lore.

Not a suggestion again but... I have a new update to the previously-revealed unreleased traffic vehicles for future updates;

Those SUVs we've saw last month... were finally revealed in full by the Route 66 Centennial Project celebration video. My speculations are truly correct; that blue squarish car and the similar-looking light green off-roader one with the rear spare tire, were actually the same car in one model, confirming this car will spawn in two versions: stock and modified off-road. It is also confirmed to be a monocoque-based off-road-style SUV.

Counting along with the three previously-revealed SUVs from past months (facelifted sixth-generation Ford Explorer (U625), fifth-generation Lincoln Navigator (U718) and Cadillac Optiq), including the Toyota Land Cruiser J250-based SUV ported from Euro Truck Simulator 2, this AI traffic car will be the fifth fictional SUV soon to be added in a future ATS update.

It was spotted multiple times in that video, in both stock and modified variants, which I've compiled almost all of them I've spotted below.

Stock:

Modified Off-Road:

[ external image ]
[ external image ]
[ external image ] [ external image ]
[ external image ] [ external image ] [ external image ]
[ external image ] [ external image ]

With that reveal, I can now ruled out a few previously-guessed vehicles...
— Both 2026+ Jeep Recon EV and 2026+ Rivian R2 were ruled out; this AI traffic car is actually an internal-combustion vehicle, not an EV. In the stock variant, you can see center dual exhaust pipes.
— 2022+ Rivian R1S is also ruled out; not only sharing the same reason as above, but also confirmed this vehicle isn't a full-size one at all.
— Sixth-generation Ford Bronco (U725) can be also now ruled out, as the vehicle isn't that boxy enough to be a Bronco. This means a fictionalized U725 Bronco for traffic is less likely for now, so from this time being, long live the fully-licensed playable version for Project Road Trip DLC.
— Fifth-generation Jeep Cherokee (KL) is also mentioned here previously but now, we can rule that out too because those aforementioned screenshots finally prove otherwise.

Other possible candidates would've been the sixth-generation Jeep Cherokee (KM), the Jeep Grand Cherokee from either WK2 or WL series, the sixth-generation Toyota 4Runner (N500), and the 2021+ Ford Bronco Sport (CX430) — the latter is possible whatever if SCS chose to license it for Project Road Trip or not. However, I don't think this is one of those vehicles.

There's actually one more model I've previously guessed at the start of this April, and it happens to be very close to that following vehicle; I can partially confirm that AI traffic car shown all above is inspired by/based on the fourth-generation Honda Passport (YF9):
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

In fact, the wheels in the stock version reminds me to one of that generation Passport's wheel options:
[ external image ]
...albeit having a larger diameter; hell, it looks a lot more like those found in the GMC Hummer EV, as debuted in the SUV version.

As for other previously-revealed upcoming traffic vehicles; that same Route 66 Centennial Project video apparently also reveal what would be the rear view of the facelifted sixth-generation Ford Explorer (U625)-inspired SUV, where apparently, SCS designed the rear fascia resembling the fifth-generation GMC Yukon and Yukon XL (GMT1UG/GMT1YG):
[ external image ]

Bonus; while we've already seen @Ness discovering its asset model hidden in the game files of 1.59 Open Beta about a while back, here's much clearer in-game shots of the fifth-generation Lincoln Navigator (U718)-inspired SUV from that same aforementioned video:
[ external image ]
[ external image ]
By the way, that Navigator-inspired SUV also debuted one of the new wheel models, which honesty, that would've also fit in the existing twelfth-generation Chevrolet Suburban (GMT1YC)-inspired Caliber full-size SUV (I'm not a huge fan on the Suburban-based SUV's current wheel model; I know they were re-used wheel assets but those wheels look too small and almost made that thing look like a lowrider).

Good point. It's clear this is a 2026-present Honda Passport. SCS likely modeled it months out in advance, because you should know car modeling is not easy. Unfortunately, both 4Runners, the Charger Sixpack four-door and the current-gen Explorer are not present in the open beta nor the recent videos, and they are currently not in 1.59. Which means SCS is going to withhold these models until a later patch, even though the models are fully finished and ready to go.

There's no excuse for this - if the passenger cars are already coded to spawn, then keep them as-is. The exceptions I know of are the police vehicles and other public service vehicles, which require more time to implement. Have that in mind that they are not licensed vehicles and are fictionalized.

I can agree on getting new wheel assets for civilian cars, and tire treads that go on them, but these also take some time to implement. I do know of a few vehicles with awful wheel choices (old Silverado, F-100, Tempest, and a few others).

Side note: If the cars themselves had bugs, then that would be understandable as to disable them. But these models don't seem to have any visual problems in the grand scheme of things, and they work fine. That is my notable gripe about this issue.

Another thing... we really should diversify the vehicle lineup. Why is it that we're just getting too much of the same vehicle archetype? It would be nice to see more variety outside of those SUVs... and while there were some in recent patches, everything else is another SUV. In fairness, we did get new models in the form of the rural firetruck, classic muscle car and a sedan, but everything else is just SUVs or a compact utility vehicle. We still don't have many older vehicles, and even though they aren't a priority, they still should get some chance as a traffic car. Yes we do want to see new stuff based on the cars sold today, but what about the stuff made before 2020? Those shouldn't be ignored in my honest opinion.

UPDATE: Can confirm those vehicles I mentioned are not in 1.59 at all. Guess we will have to wait... which is really not necessary. Worth noting the Land Cruiser 250 also isn't spawning anymore for now. So yet another vehicle we have to wait to be implemented. Great....
UPDATE #2: I can confirm it's not a Passport. The recent Indiana introduction trailer confirms this is a 2025-present Toyota 4Runner - which was mentioned on my suggestions. Will update it later.

Alright, here come some new vehicles to look forward to in ATS in the future. Enjoy!

2003-2009 Toyota 4Runner (N210)
Some models are worth liking better than others. The third-gen 4Runner should be an obvious choice for older traffic variety, as these SUVs were produced in large numbers, primarily for the North American market. This is the SUV made for the adventurist in mind.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2003-2008 Infiniti FX35/FX45 (S50)
Graceful design meets timeless cool means another retro SUV worth adding to ATS. This model was introduced as a soft concept model in 2002 and put into production shortly after. The facelift model was sold in Europe in addition to NA and the design was recently revived. Speaking of...
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2027-present Infiniti QX65 - Blending Modern And Retro Designs
Two worlds collide with the all-new QX65: Modern Infiniti design language mixed in with a body style inspired from the 2003 FX SUV (and to an extent, its 2009 version). This model tries to be sporty, and given recent benchmark first drives, it definitely looks the part, despite it being heavier than its forebears and powered by a inline-four. Priced between $55,000-71,000 depending on trim (and REALLY costly extras), it should be a mid-class favorite.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

1991-2005 Acura NSX (de facto exotic car)
A legendary sports car all on its own, the Honda/Acura NSX (New Supercar eXperimental) proved that a reasonable mid-engined supercar could be possible. Through its two generational changes (though technically they are deep restylings), about the only things it changed was the introduction of a T-Top variant, the loss of pop-ups starting in 2002, and a special variant dedicated to a now late CART driver - in this case, Alex Zanardi. Still, it's a desirable vehicle still worthy of an everyday driver. After 2005, the NSX itself would be out of the spotlight until 2016.

Post-facelift (NA2)

Oh, and while we're at it, this third-gen BMW X1 just introduced to ETS2 should make the jump to ATS as it is sold in North America as a 2023 model year. Here is an example of one.

Forwarding this reply from RushCars' comment a month ago about future AI cars...

This wagon just got spotted in the 2025 Volvo VNL + VNR Electric reveal blog.
[ external image ]
I will be happy to confirm this is the 2025-present Mercedes-Benz E-Class S218 wagon based on the overall design. It looks pretty sleek and given its worldwide availability it should also make the jump to Euro Truck 2 when this makes it. Now it would make sense to get rid of the C-Class wagon - or at least rework it as a sedan model and overwrite the existing asset as a "replacement". Same with a certain Ford MPV that refuses to be deleted from ATS.... These two models, to me, I consider them pests, just like how roaches are a problem.

That being said, the output of modern AI vehicles coming to ATS (whether they be new models outright or some of them being ported from ETS2 and vice versa) looks good so far, and will continue with new and old models.

Alrighty, it's time for more new vehicles worthy of being AI traffic models into ATS. Enjoy.

2006-2012 Honda Civic (FA/FG)
Note: This entry pertains specifically to the North American models of the Civic, not the European models.
Honda's reliable Civic has its own credibility when it comes to being an economical car of choice. I've listed both its coupe and sedan models.

2006 Honda Civic Si (FG2)

[ external image ]

2010-2024 Toyota 4Runner (N280)
For 2010, Toyota's long-running 4Runner plays it safe, and as with its previous generation, these were made in large numbers. I've listed both facelift models (even if they are not relevant anymore).
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2015 facelift (TRD Pro shown)
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

1995-2005 Chevrolet Astro / GMC Safari
This compact van was popular for a reason, and these models came into fruition in 1985 to compete with the burgeoning minivan market. The 1995 model of the Astro/Safari was the pinnacle of vanlife. Hence why we need this as a regular vehicle spawn for both its cargo and passenger model (the latter of which is shown below). Surprisingly the Astro was popular enough to warrant an EU variant, but it sold very poorly there. Similar to the Dodge Ram Van, the Chevrolet Astro has quite the cult following in Japan, and besides the point, it was good enough to get a spot in a PS2-only 2005 racing game from Konami, Enthusia: Professional Racing.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2016-2022 Fiat 500X (334)
Fiat's equivalent of the Renegade and still managed to sell fairly well until its end in 2022.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2015-2022 Chevrolet Trax
As we got its second-gen model in ATS, the first-gen Trax shouldn't be left out. I have provided both pre- and post-facelift models.

[ external image ]

2017 facelift
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2026-present Mazda CX-5 - Five Sides of You
For its redesigned model, the 2026 Mazda CX-5 embraces its new look and seeks out a sibling rivalry. But what side will you be on? It's another vehicle worthy of the expanding AI vehicle roster. This model can also be added to ETS2.

Finally! It's a wagon!

Personally, I can also see SCS is probably also mixing some styling cues of that car with the previous-gen MB S213 wagon, especially the rear taillights (maybe). Just my opinion when looking at that screenshot. Again, agree too, we have to wait for the next future update of where the car was finally coded to in-game traffic (whatever it would be 1.60 or something beyond that).

It's time to roll out some new models to pen into ATS! Enjoy!

2006-2010 Hyundai Sonata (NF)
One of the most popular Hyundai models still worth looking at. This model despite its average build quality sold well to the general public and was offered in Europe.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2011-2015 Hyundai Sonata (YF)
This model of the Sonata is infamous for its poor engine reliability, as it would seize without warning. Yet, despite this severe drop in build quality, it still sold reasonably well in the U.S. This was also the first Sonata to offer a hybrid powertrain.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

Sonata Blue Drive hybrid
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2015-2019 Hyundai Sonata (LF)
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2018-2023 Kia Stinger (CK)
This liftback from Kia is quite an interesting choice, as it was one of the new models meant to revolutionize Kia and have this be the iconic sports car. Given its advertising, it had a lot of hype but wore off quickly. Its licensed credit to video games yielded only three entries: Forza Motorsport 7 (via now-delisted DLC), CSR 2 (a freemium drag racing game), and Forza Horizon 4.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2013-2016 Mazda CX-5 (KE)
This mid-level SUV should provide as another model worth adding. This model ironically is the subject of an infestation of low-quality Unity games.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2017-2021 Mazda CX-5 (KF)
[ external image ]
[ external image ]

2025-present Volkswagen ID. Buzz (long wheelbase variant specifically designed for North America)
Volkswagen launched the ID. Buzz as a electric reinvention of the iconic Microbus in 2022, and though it was offered for European markets in a short wheelbase format, it wouldn't be offered in North America. A long-wheelbase variant (shown here) would be the model offered for the NA market. Despite lackluster sales and skipping 2026, VW is still committed to keeping this model afloat for the foreseeable future. That is if something changes.
[ external image ]
[ external image ]
Of course, we have to remain tentative if we get this at any point. It may have to be a rare vehicle - in other words, a de facto exotic.
