Plenty of mountainous areas and often single-lane roads. It will be a beautiful map. The cities I am particularly interested in are; Rijeka, Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Istra, Sarajevo, Mostar, Novi Sad, Mitrovice, Pristina, Skopje, Vlorë and Monastery.

Re: West Balkans Expansion Discussion
#3 is proving to be a tough nut to crack. I've looked all over national parks and mountain passes but have come up empty.
If it's not Montenegro, then I think it's gotta be close, perhaps southern Serbia, northwest Kosovo, southeast BiH, northern Albania, somewhere in that general area.

Re: West Balkans Expansion Discussion
If we assume picture #5 is a city in Albania, then Serbia is the only country that wasn't featured in the blog. Could maybe mean #3 is in Serbia?
Nevermind, I must've been really tired when I wrote this.

Re: West Balkans Expansion Discussion
If you're right Slovenia (and Kosovo) wouldn't have been featured.
Re: West Balkans Expansion Discussion
What software do you use to search? only googlemaps? I would guess pic 3. is in Serbia, but it's hard for me to find it there if they don't have a streetview.
Re: West Balkans Expansion Discussion
Should I be able to find it? I personally think it's the location from the picture #3 GPS: https://www.google.com/maps/@42.0388563 ... 268,18.17z If not, it's something we're looking for

Re: West Balkans Expansion Discussion
This might be the location, the only thing that is missing here are rocky cliff formations on the left side. It looks that Serbia, Slovenia, and Kosovo are being prepared for some other blog posts later this month or next.
Re: West Balkans Expansion Discussion
I see one problem with this, and it's road quality. From the pic it looks like it could be at least a national road, with markings, barrier and everything. What could work there would be the A1 a bit to the south if it wasn't a motorway.

Re: West Balkans Expansion Discussion
SCS used to make road lines and railings where there were none, but that they've been more and more willing lately to try to mimic road quality, aside from potholes and expansion joints and the like. Yeah I think this is the type of alpine scenery we're looking for, but the lack of the unique rock formations combined with the road differences make me think it's probably not it.
