The only one that matters is Czechia. Expecting SCS to go against the policy of their government is unrealistic. Apparently SCS needs to plaster that statement to the top of every WB blog post because the arguments will crop up constantly from now until release and beyond. "The Czech Republic recognizes the Republic of Kosovo. As we are a Czech-based company, the development of the West Balkans DLC will reflect that policy." If anyone blames them for that, well that's their problem.

Am I crazy, or so obtuse that I can't think anymore?
You mean the situation is like french cars going into Italy should have an I plate and italians going to France should wear a F?
Surely that's not it, or me or someone else is out of her/his mind.

Why do they need to post any statements or apologies? Kosovo has been functioning as an independent country for almost 15 years now. The vast majority of countries that don't recognize them do so for their own internal political reasons (hello Tibet and Catalonia) as well as well as some bizarre lobbying. Remember when Vucic went on a tour of Africa and bragged about convincing Lessotho to withdraw their recognition? Bizzare :?

The easiest way to fix this might be to just avoid those border crossings alltogether and use that space for more scenery or industrial cities.

There is a simple solution to this problem that scs can do is not to deal with what is happening between Serbia and Kosovo, and add both countries, regardless of what is happening or will happen there, by the work of SCS and creating DLC maps and expanding ETS2 and don't deal with politics in the world, because when they decide not to release DLC or remove a country, they only punish the players

anyway

there wont be any change, most likely, so the DLC will release as scheduled somewhere Q1 or maybe Q2 2023

Very funny, although Slovakia was part of the Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia), it does not recognize Kosovo :D .
Like Ukraine does not recognize Kosovo, or Spain, or Greece, or Romania or Cyprus in Europe.

There is no need to make any political statements. Just show the world as it really is.
If there is a border, show the border; if there is a flag, show the flag, no matter who owns it.
If we have a copy of the world in the game, then we need to copy everything.

Games, like sports, should unite. Each has its own view, its own taste, each is right in its own way.
If you try cut, delete, cancel something, you punish not only those whom you want to punish, but even those who support your point of view.
In fact and as a result, you are punishing everyone with this.

 Just develop all geography, cities, roads, rivers, mountains, forests, lakes, houses.
in Microsoft Flight Simulator we have all countries shown. all cities, for example even Crimea are shown or the Crimean bridge on the day of release. https://youtu.be/9CF6xAEXqq4?t=469
Or in SnowRunner, we have no problem releasing Russian maps.

I mean, you don't have to cut, avoid or delete anything, just show everything exactly the same as in the real world, as you show cities, roads.
Any political statements anyway will only cause a negative reaction from one of the parties. The main thing is no political statements.
It won't do any good anyway, as politics is done in the big cabinets and by those who have much more and all the information about things going on in these places than we all, or what show us on TV. The work of intelligence and special services should be left to professionals.
 We are just players. We just have to not let anyone use us. that's all. we just want to play. we just want to enjoy playing ETS2 or ATS or any other wonderful game.

The map shows that as soon as you make a political statement, you immediately accept and accept one of the parties. You can just like Microsoft Flight Simulator, do not declare anything and it will simply remain invisible, no one cares about that. Just everyone will make their own decision to buy or not to buy this DLC.

I am sure that even if a person is dissatisfied with the fact that Kosovo will be shown in the game, how something separate from Serbia. then he will still buy this DLC to support the developers, or he will simply avoid this area and drive to other cities in neighboring countries or his own, on other roads. or just use the mod and customize the game or that territory for yourself.
Or over time, having learned something new, he can even radically change his mind to the opposite. Everything happens in life. Life is very complicated.
 you can see how the borders of countries in the world have changed, it's crazy. https://youtu.be/Vwla-NRwA1g?t=8
as the number of people when the Earth was inhabited by less than 10 million people. and today the population has grown to 8 billion people.

recognized(red), did not recognize(green) Republic of Kosovo (09.08.2019)

The problem is that the current engine limitations can't handle a realistic as-it-is-on-the-ground implementation of the license plate issue. So they can either fix the limitation and be accused of favoring Serbia, or they can not fix it and be accused of favoring Kosovo. They can't win either way because an action would need to be taken to make things more realistic. Flags at border crossings, street signs, etc are all possible in the current engine and don't need any further actions to be realistic according to how it is in real life. So no one can blame them. License plates are a different story, they'll have to make a choice. The thing is, based on the easter egg hunt and the Steam description, the choice we would expect them to make *if they were only following their own politics* is the unrealistic one. But they should always choose the realistic option IMO to be consistent. So that's why I want them to choose to try and fix the license plate limitation. Choose the more realistic implementation, no matter which side it benefits. Then no one can be reasonably upset.

It seems that ETS2 faces a lot of political problems: Ukraine and Russia, Serbia and Kosovo. What's next? Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK? Cyprus, Greece and Turkey? Flanders and Wallonia?
