SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Peterbilt 389 Rework

#1 Post by Seerman » 20 Jun 2022 15:14

Hi everyone!
Update 02/16/23

The Christmas stream 2022 showed tracks in development, including 389, which means that the SCS decided to make this track again from scratch.

So I made a decision that formed by itself. At the moment, everything I could do with this truck, I did. But to continue working on it, I no longer see the point.
In any case, I will support this mod so that it works correctly in current versions of the game until the release of the new version 389.

On this page, I will share with you information on the progress of work to improve Peterbilt 389.
My mod has been under development since the fall of 2021, and many could see it in the Workshop.

Added:

- original 389 grill
- original battery boxes
- 379 grill with headlights
- two grill custom
- mudguard
- chromed front fenders
- air filters
- rear steps
- flat bumpers, Texas bumpers
- mudflaps for front fenders
- rear light and brake lights of cabs
- additional lamps for two sideskirts
- microwave to the interior
- sound for Cummins ISX15 engines taken from 9900i by SCS

Interiors are customizable:

- Standard Ultra Ride
- Light Ultra Ride
- Beige Ultra Ride
- Premium Ultra Ride

Author's interior designs (not customizable):

- Heritage X (based on the Limited Edition 379X)
- Phil Hall Design (Designed by lead Peterbilt designer Phil Hall)
- 2023 Ultra Ride (Original design of the 2023 model year)
- Noire (Inspired by the TV series Twin Peaks)
- Gray Spaсe
- Prestige Beige
- Prestige Gray

Game version: 1.45

Credits:
Sherman
pete379jp (air filters, flat bumpers)
Right Lane Gaming (379 headlights)
Ryan Kusumo Dhewanto (original: grill, battery boxes, Texas bumpers, air filters)

Do you have any plans to add a
full gauge package to the interior?

Unfortunately, I don't have such skills. But if someone wants to help me do it, I will be grateful.

Please remove the hood slope, fix the bumper curve, throw the step boxes in the trash, and so on. This interior looks great: keep up the good work!

The plans so far are to correct the mismatch of the sleeper outside and inside.
There is a window on the outside on the left, but there is no window inside. There is a blank wall outside on the right, and there is a security door inside.

Ah cool! I believe that was an option irl, but not one people took often. There was also an option to have the 70 inch sleeper be windowless, but again, those are rare. Looking forward to what you do!

oooohhhh!

Will we have the engine badges on the pillars in front of the door and the fuel tanks behind the sideskirts too ? ;)

Exemple of how the tank would look like behind the skirt :

I'll see how to do it.
I will create a separate thread about VNL later.

Let's talk about 389 here.
