ATS 1.45 Discussion
Re: ATS 1.45 Discussion
Ooh, flight50 was thinking of quick travel. I actually never used that before, that's why I didn't think of it. Makes sense. Thanks for the explanation!

Re: ATS 1.45 Discussion
So I am unsure if this has ever been noticed before or if I am missing something. But on the standard SCS 53ft Box trailer, it appears that the axles are too far forward. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me but here is a photo comparison. Thoughts?

Re: ATS 1.45 Discussion
I assume that is an owned trailer you have. You can slide the tandems to change that gap. Just do it before you pick up a load. But the gap seems fine to me. Look up 53ft trailers just in general and not one specifically from Werner. There is no set distance because the tandems can be slid based on the state being traveled. There are common gaps that most state accept though.

My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

How do I slide the tandems back? I was looking in the controls and couldn't find a button

Re: ATS 1.45 Discussion
@Carfreak200 You can only set it to two positions that is Forward or Rear, you cant just move it anywhere like IRL. Its under the F7 settings.
Re: ATS 1.45 Discussion
Yeah if SCS ever allows us to load our own trailers, that brings weigh stations and scales into play for more realistic functionality. That is when we should get more increments for sliding tandems.

Yep, and once set, you cannot reposition the axles until you unload the trailer. I've been lobbying for this restriction to be removed, but no luck yet.
It singlehandedly is a wall between us and a plethora of possibilities including toggleable opening doors and tarps, dump trailers that raise before dumping (again a toggle), and multi position axles like is mentioned here.
SCS may not implement any of these things, but modders could if SCS took the restriction away.

Re: ATS 1.45 Discussion
Trailer ownership as it is in-game is not really trailer ownership, more like a cheat on the freight market, look at the dump trailers for example, or the grain trailer in ATS, they are always modeled as full and covered, even if you're driving empty, as for flatbeds, low loaders log trailers...the game just loads another full model of the trailer and not just a cargo on top of your trailer which causes the lifted axels to be lowered.
Until we get a reworked cargo system and real trailer ownership, non of the options mentioned above can be implemented.

no ? the game reloads the trailer but it does not load a complete new trailer with the cargo on it or else you would loose all the accessories
