That's absolutely not true, for owned trailers the cargo and the trailer are separated, it does load the model of the cargo on top of your trailer and adds the extra weight, each trailer type has it's own set of models for the cargo, if the game loaded "another full model" it would change all the accessories in your owned trailer.

With that said, i do agree the cargo system does need a complete overhaul.

The only way to overhaul the cargo system is to take a step back and seriously research how the industries and the cargo chain works. ATS is missing a lot of middle men companies to fill in gaps. From creating a much needed point based cargo system (dedicated blocks on trailers), to making cargo make sense for pick up and designations and to then finally adding a HUGE cargo library that both games pull from.

I don't know how many cargoes SCS has made between both games but lets for example say 150. Well it should be 3x or more than that. With a point load system, you can take all those cargo options and make your own loads at certain depots. Depots that offer multiple cargo should allow multi load configurations. This also plays into the hands of multi drop. I think this is all too advanced for the current game engine and obviously not part of this 1.45 update, but I know the devs see us go round and around on this for years. Hopefully they have it on the list and are trying to figure out a way to implement it for the future.

In reality, about trucks in traffic is a problem, because:
Western Star 49X doesn't have the other cabins and chassis (currently we only have the Day Cab version) and the increase the generation it's low
International 9900i
Western Star 57X
