How do we use the "mp_mod_optional" tag

SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

mp_mod_optional: true
Place it anywhere within the brackets in the manifest.

Has anyone had any luck with this working? I still haven't seen anyone using it or my mods work as the host.

Hi, no, that's not how it works somehow. My guys still need the same mods.

Yes that's exactly how it works. Although you do have an error further up you're missing a " at the end of a line.

I can attest to say, although I’m not a mod author myself, I placed that line in the manifest of all the mods I’m subscribed to that don’t outwardly affect the truck and they show up as optional, so it does work.

Thanks @Mohegan13

Three actually lol
Does this attribute mean that people can create a convoy and use mods (like paintjobs) where everyone doesn't have to have the same mods?
If you suck at playing the trumpet, that's probably why.

@room217au Thats exactly what it does. I have a bunch of interior dashboard mods that not everyone really needs so it would allow me to run convoy without making everyone need these mods.
