Apparently you completely missed my last sentence. If its going to take me a few weekends, that means I come back later utilizing saves. At any rate, I thoroughly explained why I have my preference. You have yours, I have mine. I didn't know it was crime to want to only do everything in one session. I guess I should ask the community for permission next time to play like I want.

The point is "people" argue that at a larger scale a delivery would be too long.
My remark on this is well why do you want to finish it today, when in game it's not the case.

You don't like this idea? Good for you, anyway SCS will not change the scale now. We're talking with a beer and the world still revolves.

Agreed, SCS won't change...not again. At least no time soon. Depending on the type of job I take determines how long I play. I can only handle 1.5-2 hr blocks. I try to keep to 300-800 mile long drives. I'll take 800-1200 on occasions. I got burned out back when ATS only had up to Washington. The map was badly shaped imho. Typically, I can only play late at night or early in the morning. I'm either too tired and sleepy and fall asleep at my gaming wheel or I can't play all day after a morning session because I have a ton of stuff to do already. Freight Jobs, I come back to later and finish as I stopped doing fatigue.

WoT jobs I like to finish them in one session to avoid a penalty but lately, I just take the penalty because I didn't get back in time. Money I don't care about. I have well over 10 million. I get huge penalties sometimes but I'd don't mind because I like the load I take and want to finish it. So there are various reason why I play like I play.

But I don't only argue that it takes longer to drive. I argue it takes longer for the devs to kick out the dlc. Larger scale also means more expensive dlc's. People already complain about price. Its a domino effect if the scale gets larger and that's why I say I don't think people realize what all gets effected.

I've never understood how some players cannot pause and return. Or better yet, take shorter deliveries.

For them, the map must be a small scale so they can cover states in minutes lol.

One idea I've thought about is why not change the scale to increase when you head further east. Not a sudden big one mind you, but a very slow one gradual change. For example maybe change the states east of Texas to be a 1:19 scale, the then progressively go to 1:18, then 1:17, and so on. Until you reach something like 1:15 or maybe even 1:10 once you hit areas like New York. 1:20 I think works well for the states that currently exist for the most part, but it will be come more and more of a struggle the further east you get, and I feel it would solve the problem rather nicely. Even if it would create a weird effect of the days getting shorter or longer the further easy or west you drive.

I also think a change in scale would be nice for certain areas in ETS2, UK's 1:15 after all, don't see any issues pulling a similar stunt with Ireland!

the UK is 1:15 because UKTS was mapped in 1:15, also it can be done because the UK is separated from the rest by loading screens, you cant just increase the scale on a continuous map, it would start to distort everything and solve nothing because, out of nowhere the east of the US will be way bigger then the west, this would also be noticeable in a potential Canada and Mexico expansion where nothing will fit anymore

They already do that with cities though don't they?

Also no reason they couldn't go back to 1:20 for future expansions, it would make sense for Mexico, western portions of Canada, and Alaska.

cities are an entirely different matter or do you want to drive through a city in 5 seconds ? somehow they have to place the depots but the surroundings are still all in 1:20, if you start to stretch the map out just to get more room to map it will be noticeable
