Latest Logitech Gaming Software v9.04.49 breaks force feedback FFB (fix)

#1 Post by pete_agreatguy » 21 Jul 2022 13:15

I'm going to share this as suspect many other users will be having similar issues.

Installing Logitech Gaming Software v9.04.49 seems to break force feedback (FFB) completely so that it is constantly at 100% ... not a fun way to play ETS2 or ATS ... though after 10 mins you'll have more of a workout than going to the gym for 2 hours

FIX:

Install LGS v9.02.65 instead.

Tested and working fine on Windows 10 Pro.

Hello pete_agreatguy and other Logitech gaming wheels owners

@ pete_agreatguy unfortunately I have to swear by the warning about the Logitech Gaming Software v9.04.49 version that it doesn't work properly for such errors in the FFB and I can't understand why you have the problem.
Therefore I ask you to delete the download link immediately with the agreement of the Logitech operator.

You have this problem can have many reasons:
1. Not properly installed
2. Windows operating system did not restart properly
3. Firmware not updated
4. User manual just like the instructions on the monitor not properly paid attention to
5. The FFB is not correctly configured in Ets 2 and in ATS
6. All patches are thoroughly checked again before release.

Now I come to the things why I can't understand why there are problems with the FFB and I can't prove it because I don't have such problems.
That's why I don't even come up with these 6 points that I described above, not even close, I'm almost 100% far away.

I took the software version 9.1.XX to gradually install all the updates. Then I did the firmware of the steering wheel update, it was the versions 96.1.43.0 then the version 96.3.49.35 updated for a couple of days I updated the Logitech version 9.04.49.12 and no THIS PROBLEM WHAT YOU HAD MY that's why I come according to my test result with clear user error.

The FFB and the Logitech G-Hub software work wall-free without any problems.

To all those reading this, let me tell you one thing before such a discussion starts, ask the Logitech manufacturer beforehand that the problem with the software Logitech has no place in such a forum, this post from me we then the operator SCS with the link from Forum then transmits the SCS software via e-mail.

I have reported it to Logitech via the community forum and via there chat. All systems have a different setup, so it is common practice that some drivers work flawlessly with some systems. And some not so much. My post is valid as stated by Madkine above.

Thank you @Madkine for your support.

Hello everyone

@ pete_agreatguy since I came across your post, I've had a few questions on my mind:

1.) How did the FFB actually come about?
2.) What kind of Logitech steering wheel do you have?
3.) Which USB port did you connect it to?
4.) Your Lengrad would have to be connected to the socket and the USB port, so the FFB cannot switch off?

I can give you some instructions but that also depends on your operating system because I don't know what you have?

I suspect something is wrong with your USB PORT.
According to my research, this is currently only a 10% that the FFB switches off. It could only be the previous models Logitech G 27 and 29. I have a Logitech G 920, other people also have it and so far no FFB failure or switch-off has been found.

I suspect from your link what you put here is wrong, this software should be https://support.logi.com/hc/de-at/artic ... cing-Wheel. I clicked on your link but the version you wrote is no longer available it is only the version see in the picture

if I download this software then it can come to 100% FFB shutdown click on the link what I send to you. And that's the bug you just downloaded the drivers but not the LOGITECH G-HUB which you're missing. Then the FFB does not switch off either. ATTENTION THIS IS NO LONGER WINDOWS VISTA FOR WINDOWS 10 AND 11, 7 and 8 it doesn't work there. this can also come to the FFB shutdown. But please answer these colors above.

Thank you very much @pete_agreatguy

My G29 was acting weird with both 9.04.49 and the GHUB... I deactivated GHUB from initialization and installed the LGS 9.02.65 and now it's working perfectly.

@pete_agreatguy Just a heads up, I wasn't even aware there were newer versions available, I was runing 8.98 or something like that, and have now updated to the latest and don't have any issues.

Thx, it took me a few hours to find this post. Searching on Force Feedback didn't reveal it. I had a new computer installed and couldn't find my last LGS version which worked. This one does and I'm grateful.

Glad you got it working JPD. I've amended the title and original post content to include "force feedback" so it should get picked up in the future :)
