New 1.45* MP MOD Optional

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

New 1.45* MP MOD Optional

Hi there,

Not sure if this has been asked previously, sorry if it has, did a search and found nothing,

With the new system implemented in 1.45* of MP MOD Optional, let's say for example, a convoy session host has map mods which as of yet do not support

mp_mod_optional: true
in the manifest.sii file for example ProMods and Reforma and then several mods which do support

mp_mod_optional: true
in the manifest.sii file loaded, does the optional side of it still work if the session has been set up with this option?

So for example someone wanted to join but they only had the map mods but not the optional ones would they still be able to?

The optional mod parameter allows players without the optional mod to play in the session. So yes any player without mods marked as optional can join the session.

What is required is that the session is set up to allow optional mods and the mod itself to have the optional flag.

To join the session you need to have any non optional mods only.

I wasn't going to use it for promod etc, but just a prefab me and my friend wanted to try added to the vanilla map.
