Hello, here is how I had to park to trigger the rest function... [ external image ]
Why not just do it on each parking space?? This is not the place that is the problem since it happens to me on ATS and ETS2.I specify that on ATS I play absolutely without mod.
I have a suggestion, being myself a truck driver, we are not obliged to park in car parks, we can park along the road if we are not in the way and if we are safe.
I find that there are too few places where you can park outside the car parks.

Re: Problem with parking trucks
I've found that uncoupling the trailer is often a workaround for this particular bug.
Where is this anyway? If you have coordinates, you could post this in the bug section so that maybe SCS can fix it permanently.

I don't want to name a specific location though between Helena and Great Falls Montana.
This kind of the bug and on a lot of resting place
Sometimes you have to park at the millimeter to have the info bubble to have the right to take a break
Re: Problem with parking trucks
Have you tried de-coupling your trailer, like nautofon said? Having the trailer attached can cause issues sometimes.
Re: Problem with parking trucks
One of the reasons why I turned off fatigue and use console commands. Sleep where I want, when I want.
Re: Problem with parking trucks
One of the things I hope gets added to both games; if you have a cab with a bed, you should be able to sleep anywhere as long as you're in a correct parking space.
Re: Problem with parking trucks
That would be a great improvement. I hear players on this forum that drive for real and talk how illegal it is to just pull over anywhere to sleep. Well , out in rural USA, in some parts of the country, you can see it done occasionally . There are a few spots off the main highways, where I see semis pulled over to sleep all the time. Legal or not. On a regular basis. Probably due to no commerce patrols ever driving by. It does happen...
Re: Problem with parking trucks
A parking space shouldn't even be required based on how it works around much of the US. Trucks pull over along various roadways for drivers to sleep.
