G29 brake pedal refuses to map + Force feedback not working

#1 Post by De_Ruyter » 21 Sep 2022 13:46

I got a brand new G29 steering wheel and pedals since a few days.
I have been trying to fix issues ever since I got it.
First the steering didn't want to work, which is fixed now.
Now the brake pedel refuses to map while ingame.
Do note, the brake pedal does seem to work in windows and during the normal tests.

I already contacted the seller, who told me that I could send it back.
However I want to make sure I didn't mess up something myself.
I tried 2 logitech programs now, neither seems to work to fix this issue.
I used Revo uninstaller to make sure ALL related files were gone and really got a fresh install.
I must have had it installed and re-installed at least 30 times by now and still it doesn't work.

Another issue seems to be the force feedback that seems to be non functional at all.
Over all attempts it didn't work a single time.

I would like to get some advice and perhaps tips to get it working.

@De_Ruyter

Look, I've seen a decent amount of people now having the same problem with the G29/G920 either be not working FFB or whatever it is... Two of those people were friends of mine and this solution worked well for them.

What you have to do is get rid of GHUB... Uninstall it from your PC completely, even delete the installer from it. After there's no Logitech software left on your PC, download this version of the Logitech Gaming Software, install it on your PC... After it's done, it will ask you to reboot the PC, do that and when it initiate again the wheel should be appearing in the LGS and the FFB should be working as intended on both ATS and ETS2.

Also, whenever you turn the PC on, make sure to disconnect the G29 USB from the computer before you actually turn it on and only plug it again after the LGS software has started.

I should also point out that this fix is mainly for the FFB issue... I don't know if it will fix the brake pedal.

I did remove Ghub, installed LGS. But that doesn't seem to fix the issue.
As I said I been trying at least 30 completely fresh installs.
And yes I do detach is fully as I should be doing.

That's weird... All the people that I advised to follow that procedure, got their wheel working again 🤔. Perhaps it could be an issue with the wheel itself... I'm also still new to the G29 since I recently moved on from a old Driving Force Pro.

Thats why I try to find peopel who might have the same issue.
Brake not mapping (can not get the brake assigned to the brake function ingame) + force feedback seems to be non-functional

Now either someone might know the solution or I need to send it back to get it replaced.
Which is now the question.

I am really close of hitting the 5000 hours on ETS2, I am now standing still unable to really do anything because of these issues.
