What would you like as CORE mechanics in this? Not secondary wishes.

Not wishlists as that thread is piled up but what would you like to see as CORE mechanics essential to a modern day truck sim? What would be reasonable features that wouldn't detract? Could we have a bigger ratio then we have without it being too big so you could really do a long haul and perhaps the ability to 'shrink' the ratio if you find it too big in options? Perhaps even the ability to have the original ATS ratio as an option.

Could we have more traffic situations to keep drivers on their toes? Should we have wear and tear to some extent? How about a virtual Truck school you get your training and endosrements something like Scania which focuses more on realistic maneuvering? Again I never touched that so don't quote me on that:
So again what do you think would be reasonable main features of a modern day truck game?

The absolute first and most important thing is physics. A truck is a large, heavy vehicle. It moves slowly, shakes, rattles, and bounces. A truck isn't a brick: in fact, a truck moves more in the course of a day than any car driving the same number of miles.

A truck simulator, therefore, should feel like driving a truck. There should be visibly animated seat suspension, visibly animated cab suspension, and tires that behave as though they are full of air, not solid.

Extreme brake application (especially for trailers) should result in brakes locking up. Extended brake application (again for trailers) should result in brake overheating and brake fade.

Steering also should be truck-like. It should not turn on a dime or do anything easily. Players with steering wheels should have to work to make a hard right turn or manuever in a tight space.

And the engine should not only sound like a truck, but perform like one as well. Taking off in the wrong gear or releasing the clutch too quickly should make the truck jump. Acceleration should be slow and best when empty. Climbing a mountain should require precise shifts in a manual transmission, and the list goes on.

The second most important thing in a truck simulator should be weather. Jackknifing should be a thing when it's wet out. Wind should make a truck feel unstable. Ice should make driving perilous.

If driving a truck irl was easy, more people would do it. It takes a unique set of skills to be able to control a 40-ton beast at highway speeds. Even in an automatic, it's not driving a car.

Yes! But we also should need to use them starting with trucks picking up uncontrollable speed going downhill. There is way too little inertia in game.

Then we'd need brake overheating and brake fade. With all of those in play, going down a mountain would require some thought.

And how about on the way up? We can climb a hill at 110 degrees and never worry about overheating.
