ATS 1.47 speculation
Re: ATS 1.47 speculation
Hmmm, gas tankers for 1.47. Surely that can't be the only thing for 1.47.

Re: ATS 1.47 speculation
Someone mentioned how adaptive cruise was introduced in a beta, but no news since.
Also, we got a number of new truck washes, but no dirt for trucks.
Maybe these will be revisited soon?

Re: ATS 1.47 speculation
ACC hasn't really been touched or improved since it was introduced. I tried using it the other day and it still slams on brakes in curves due to oncoming traffic, or speeds to "catch up" to vehicles ahead of you.
Dirt and truck washes have been teased for years, but (IIRC) won't happen due to comically absurd licensing stiputations.

Re: ATS 1.47 speculation
This is sadly a rumor that has been spread by many in the community. The reasons for no dirt are exclusively SCS and internal frustrations with the way dirt looked in a previous (years old) test. It may come at some point, but it's not the brands that are preventing it.cydonianmystery wrote: ↑09 Feb 2023 03:32 Dirt and truck washes have been teased for years, but (IIRC) won't happen due to comically absurd licensing stiputations.

Re: ATS 1.47 speculation
Fair enough, I stand corrected.
Re: ATS 1.47 speculation
The licensing thing is only true with realistic damage, some manufacturers might agree with that but it just takes one manufacturer to say no to realistic damage on their trucks to not add it at all, SCS has basically to deal with 14 different truck manufacturers and adding realistic damage to only to the trucks of the manufacturers that agree to that would be utterly ridiculous and pointless.
With dirt they tried once and were not happy with the results and should be revisited soon and we assume the truck washes are a hint at that.

Re: ATS 1.47 speculation
I don't think it's worth having realistic damage anyway. The kind of damage you should see most often in ATS is tire wear/blowouts, small dents and scratches, and busted lights, at least if you drive sanely. This game isn't like GTA or BeamNG where you're expected to go wild with your vehicle, and therefore see it get destroyed to the point that it's a complete wreck; you actually have to try to cause a lot of damage in ATS.
Yeah, it looks like dirt could be coming, but hopefully not before more truck washes, otherwise we'd have to go on long road trips just to wash up, and people without MT and TX would be out of luck. I figure at least more truck washes could come in 1.47, if not dirt along with them.

Handy maps and diagrams.
Furthermore, I consider that I-80 across Nevada must be redone next.

Not your fault. Information spreads much faster than fact.
Re: ATS 1.47 speculation
We have electrical faults simulated in the game already, so I'm sure they can try implementing non-functional lights over a certain damage percentage. Those are some nice, non-offensive ways to implement damage.

Probably a new viewpoint or two something lame I expect
