Cattle Load & Unload Points. Please & Thank You

#1 Post by LarryA » 03 Dec 2022 18:46

Thank you for reading. May have been suggested b4?

Livestock load and unload points. Please put the load and unload points for Livestock (Cattle) in front of the cattle shoots. Not certain if the load and unload points can be that close togather?

At Airports, Train load hubs and shipping docks (Ships). Would it be possible to use portable Livestock (Cattle) Pens and Potable cattle shoots? Need to be able to pop onto the map when in use. That may not be possible?

Cattle at airports and ship yards imported. Example Limosine cattle out of France.

Thank You for the consideration.

Are cattle even loaded on trains these days? Seems weird to unload them at an intermodal yard with no holding pens or any other facilities.

normally, livestock goes farm to farm or farm to slaughter house, or occasionally farm to sea port.

quite exactly why Walberts or SellGoods would need 40,000lbs of live cow is beyond me

Just FYI, Wallbert and SellGoods do NOT receive or send Cattle/Livestock cargo, in ATS cattle/livestock only goes from or to the Bushnell/Grand Pastures farms, the RailExport/GARC railways and the Ports, stop spreading misinformation.

Having cattle loads pickup/dropoff at chutes is not as cut and dry as it sounds. Every company that produces cattle also produces other loads on other trailer types as well. You can’t filter trailer spawn points by trailer type so you’d just get other random trailer types spawning in the chutes as well.

There’s some other ways to make this possible with map editing, but Scs really needs to add the ability set trailer type filters for spawn points for this idea to really make much of a difference in gameplay in my opinion.

Hi all, it's the same with tankers, for example, whether gas or fuel or chemicals, as well as the silos - only ramps rarely at a reasonable loading position, such as with Galloon.
Approach gas stations with petrol & diesel, also shipyards with heavy oil/chemicals, airports with kerosene and all the chemicals to the various chemical plants or possibly also wholesalers!
Hope dies last ;-)
Always drive safely and appropriately - in simulation as well as in real life ;)

Interesting comments. Thanks everyone for the post. Sorry miss spelled cattle chutes not shoots.

Based on RL livestock hasnt been shipped on trains since the 50s am aware of. Primarily stopped do to cattle being injured and delayed trains. Typically hall livestock for 24 hours up to 36 hours maximum with out water. That depends on tempretures.

Feel like SCS and the Beta testers are doing great work on ATS.

Yeah, makes sense. The railyard deliveries can be ignored and the grocery stores. In their place, we need more ranches and farms.

Wasnt aware of this not exactly certain when the USDA implemented the 28 hour rule. Stopped hauling livestock in 1973 or mid 74. Cattle must be watered every 28 hours. Allowed a 5 hour rest period as well. A cow, steer or bull in the sumer time will consume about 6_8 gallons of water per day. On I-15 south of Nevada in California there used to be a exit called the watering hole for livestock. There was signs prior to the exit. Had a warning sign. Think that was in the late 70s or early 80s?
