Beginners question about trucking.

#1 Post by Kiptanoi » 05 Dec 2022 18:14

Hello!

I have some question about trucking...
I do drive a Scania R Normal Next Gen in game, and like to drive in Scandinavia, and other country with smaller roads (Smaller roads = Not dual/triple file straight highways all the time.)
And I don't just want to get the biggest engine and drive a 5-ton trailer with a 750hp engine in my truck.
I am level 6 now, and have a Next Gen Scania R Normal, 4x2 chassis, 380 hp engine, and 14 speeds retarder transmission, 3.80 differential.
What is maximum weight to pull with that kind of setup?

And I like to know what kind of setups is good/realistic for:

1)
Trailer Knapen 4 m with 3 axle count and weight 10 Ton:
Chassis type:
Engine HP:
Transmission - Speeds:
Transmission - Differential:

2)
Trailer Knapen 4 m with 3 axle count and weight 15 Ton:
Chassis type:
Engine HP:
Transmission - Speeds:
Transmission - Differential:

3)
Trailer Knapen 4 m with 3 axle count and weight 20 Ton:
Chassis type:
Engine HP:
Transmission - Speeds:
Transmission - Differential:

4)
Trailer Knapen 4 m with 3 axle count and weight 25+ Ton:
Chassis type:
Engine HP:
Transmission - Speeds:
Transmission - Differential:

And when is a good thing to buy a chassis type with tag lift, what weights demands tag lift? (IRL and in game)
And do I feel any different in game with tag lift, or is it just cosmetic stuff?

Next question: When do I have usage for a long chassis type? What kind of trailers do need long chassis type?
What is typical setup with long chassis type, engine HP, transmission speeds, differential, and what kind of trailers and what tonnage are we talking about then?

I hope that some IRL drivers could write answers to my question.
Kids and gamers only: Stay away from this thread ;)
