Re: hosting a dedicated server
SteamCMD is only for those who do not own the game.
The rest of you can find servers in your steam client library (you must enable tools to be shown).
Or you can find them in steam client library using the steam id.

if you run the DS on a secondary box you need to run the system with SteamCMD

Re: hosting a dedicated server
How to get started?
Installed.
Window pops up, runs, "Error server packages file not found".
window closes.
Please help me.
No "readme" in folder...
(Yes, my own game.)
Is there any "more detailed" description?

Re: hosting a dedicated server
There is server_readme.txt . (In steamapps\common\American Truck Simulator Dedicated Server\server_readme.txt)
Anyway you are missing game configuration (map, dlc list, mod list). This can be exported from your game (to mirror your setup).
In config.cfg enable set g_console.
When game is running press `~` to open console and run `export_server_packages` or `export_server_packages destination file` command. server_packages.sii will be generated in the game home folder. It is necessary for map to be loaded when this command is called.
