North Scandinavia Discussion
Re: North Scandinavia Discussion
This page has a detailed population density map of the three countries:
https://mapsontheweb.zoom-maps.com/post ... sweden/amp
Interesting to see that Finland and Sweden have large areas with slightly higher density, whereas in Norway it's more spread out in smaller "ribbons". Must be caused by the relief, which is quite a bit higher in Norway.
Anyway, maybe this is drifting away from the main topic... The ETS2 expansion
I hope SCS will give some more information soon, but for ETS2 they usually wait until the previous expansion (in this case, West Balkans) has been released.....

festmache, maybe around or after WB release we'll see something?
Sweden should be easier to do, than Norway. Depending on what roads in Norway, it could be quite a lot similar to, for example Going-to-the-Sun Road in Montana, atleast the coastal roads.
There are roads between Norway and Sweden, that are... well, you could almost see your taillights from the cabin. And meeting traffic on some of those roads? That could make things interesting. Now I am talking of not wide asphalt roads.

Re: North Scandinavia Discussion
@Shiva, I think you're right... Sweden is probably more uniform, while Norway has spectacular roads/tunnels/bridges that might be on the same level of scenery as Going-to-the-sun Road.
Personally, I'm mostly looking forward to Norway, but that's also because I have visited the area in the Oslo-Bergen-Kristiansund (with a "u" not the one with an "a" ) triangle in real life and I was absolutely in love with it. If you know an area well or have specific memories there, the scaled down version in ETS2 can never quite meet the personal expectations, but on the other hand... I also really like the part of Norway that we have right now, even though the scale makes it a huge difference from my personal memories there.
Last week, I made some drives in Scandinavia in ETS2. Haven't driven there much lately. (Usually, I'm focused on the latest DLC/rework, and also more on ATS than on ETS2.) Even though Scandinavia is one of the oldest expansions, I think the area aged quite well. Both Norway and Sweden are still a lot of fun to drive in, even though it's obvious that the area would have looked much better with today's SCS standards... Really makes me look foward to the North Scandinavia expansion, even though it's still a long time in the future

Re: North Scandinavia Discussion
I like the name Going to the Sun for this DLC since you can see the sun almost a lot up further North
Re: North Scandinavia Discussion
CarbonGTGaming, this DLC should have midnight sun.

Volkhov and Petrozavodsk are already in HOR, he cannot have these cities in this expansion of the Scandinavian suite.Evil_Jason wrote: ↑21 Apr 2023 14:51 Removed image from quote - Rule 2.3
Would be cool if we could get Finland and some of Russia as well.
But sadly some certain activities aren't helping nuch right now
