(WIP) Peterbilt 579 Expansion

SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

(WIP) Peterbilt 579 Expansion

#1 Post by Ness » 21 Jan 2023 04:11

Been working on this for a while, figured I'd share here!

Inspired by Tom Dolley's 579 from back in 2016/2017, I went ahead and made my own version.
The goal is to expand the default 579's customization options, mostly based on real life configurations available for the 579

Need to iron out a couple more problems but I'm very close to release at this point

Options will include:
  • Two headlight options, the old style and the new style
  • More bumper variations
  • Chrome trim for the side air intakes
  • Foglights!
  • Epiq Aero kit (used with permission from Wolfi/GTM!)
  • Side exhaust stacks
  • Removal of side skirts
  • Basic interior with no infotainment screen and basic button-less steering wheel

Got still a few changes to make, and a few things to fix. But hopefully soon™!

Nice. As a 579 Enjoyer™, i'll be following this.

Great project. Did you Got in plans to add some new bug deflectors?

Great work on a great project. Any plans for an extended sleeper?

Nice job but do you plan to replace the horrible default 5th wheel with the Jost model of the most recent trucks ?
That would be great.

@carm
Potentially!

@rgrogan
Probably not, to be fully honest. I'm still very much a novice modeler so that would be a big project, I've been wanting to make the full Ultraloft sleeper, but I feel like by the time I'd get that done and make it look right, SCS will release their own 579 hah

@Adan
Nope, Gallim already has a great Paccar driveline revision mod that will do a way better job then anything I could accomplish

@tienah_san
Didn't even think about that, good idea!

Thank you, this is fantastic news! Lifelong Pete fan and the 579 definitely could use the love and accessories.

Is there a general release-window that we can expect?
