Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
Included as the latest yes of course. We are just saying the 2 fleet NG's is what Paccar will want to push out first. Making sense to us doesn't matter. Its marketing from SCS partners that matter. What they want goes. Fleet trucks is what they sell mostly to. The W990 can drop in any time afterwards for sure. We waited this long. A little longer won't hurt.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

The NG T680 is what will open the doors for the W990 and the T880, the NG 579 will do the same thing for the 567 and 589, let the NG trucks come first and then we can speculate about the others.

“A classic-looking truck would make more sense”
Yeah, that’s why we have the Pinnacle. Even Freightliner has only one model in game so they might even throw in the 122SD. That’s two classics. For Paccars, the NGs have to be prioritised, as they could help almost every other truck in their roster that are either released or to be released.

Tbh, if we will have both 2018 and 2023 option for W990, it would be amazing. Old interior would be a perfect material for reworking T680 and nice edition for W990.

Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
Keep in mind Peterbilt just announced the 589 a few weeks ago which is essentially a modernized and slightly larger 389. During the release event PACCAR mentioned that long-nose models still account for more than 20% of their annual sales so they are by no means on their way out.Sovereign 89 wrote: ↑29 May 2023 20:51 While it may be true that those NG trucks are probably first to come due to SCS favoring them, I still believe W990 can be included as one of the latest and greatest designs. Also it is worth mentioning how lately focus was mostly on aero trucks, so a more classic looking truck being released sooner rather then later makes sense to me. Especially since I believe it is among last of such breed still in production.
That being said, if I were a betting man I'd wager the 579NG and T680NG are still higher priorities for both SCS and PACCAR. I agree a 389 rebuild sneeking in under the radar is a possibility but I think we'll see the aero models before we see the W990 and 589. The Pinnacle is probably the wild card because I also think it would make sense for SCS to want to build out the Mack line first.
Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
The vehicle team’s capacity has increased a lot. Given the number of projects they have delivered in less than a year, I could only think that more is on the way. Hopefully this would let them finish the current lineup in 2-3 years and explore other avenues like classic trucks, rigids, and alternative drivetrains. Would be nice to see all of them happening at once.

I would rather see them reworking old junks in ETS2 before that, tho…
I have approximate knowledge of many things

Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
We are getting a 'rework' of the old MAN and the 2012 Volvo being remade, apparently.
ATS still lacks some important trucks, and reworks will be made regardless of new trucks as the capacity grows over time.

Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
Personally I think that ETS2 trucks should be reworked before ATS ones because they're much worse but in reality some ATS trucks might be reworked earlier (for example old VNR because the daycab and largest cab are the same as the new one, only front, interior and sideskirts need to be remodeled). Same with NG 579 and T680 and old 579/T680. On the other hand old ETS2 trucks (other than 2012 FH) are different than the new ones so reworking them might not be that easy.
Also there was some debate (either in this topic or the Volvo one) about VNR - it is also a quite easy truck to add because it is basically a short-nosed VNL, but the issue is probably more the licencing cost - is it worth to pay a licence for a truck that's very similar to the one that already exists in the game?

Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
Why not asking rework for both games? Prioritizing one for another doesn't make any sense. If currently 4 different team is working for trucks 1 for rework 3 for new trucks would be alright. Once the current semi trucks has been released by SCS then they could work for classic trucks, different drivetrains such as tandems, vocationals, car haulers etc and reworking old trucks.
But as the rework I'm afraid of one thing. Once W900 rework released SiSL said on a stream : this truck is currently on the production.
I don't know does that mean only the trucks on the production line could get rework or something else. But if that's the case, it would be a problematic. Because, I agreed ETS2 trucks needs rework. But also ATS trucks needs it as well. Believe it or not, 579 in game is 10 years old and that makes it's as old as ETS2 trucks.
