Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
Given how "involved" Volvo guys were on the stream, it really looked like SCS is at good terms with them, it kinda makes me wonder if that might hint towards the Mack Pinnacle.
Though personally I hope SCS will go full on Peterbilt and that they will throw NG 579, followed by a 589 (since they are rather similar in a lot of ways) and maybe throw in a 389 rework somewhere in the mix.

The smallest details always make the biggest difference.
Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
Paccar definitely needs to be relevant again. They started ATS. No Paccar and perhaps no ATS. SCS can rework the 389 at will but the NG 579 needs input from Petebilt. I agree the 389 could be in the mix within the next 18 months for sure.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

I rather see the VNR with the small cabin and basic engines and maybe 10 or 12 speed
The VNX with the medium cab and big engines and 18speed
The VNL with the large cabin
So I doubt the VNR/VNX will come somewhen seperately

If something is not round, it has then edges or it is broken.
Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
I see more chances of getting the VNX than the VNR, all the VNX needs is a new hood, they can reuse everything else from the VNL and only give the VNX the day cab and the 740 sleeper, i would call that good enough, the sleeper cabs of the VNR are different from the VNL and would require a new model and that's time that can be invested into another missing truck from another brand.
I just hope they give the VNX 8x4/8x6 chassis a proper length, i'm still quite annoyed by how long the 8x4/8x6 49X is but i know why they did it.

Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
Seems to me most of people here discounted a very probable possibility of Kenworth W990 sliping in by surprise. Well I haven't, although Pinnacle, NG 579 and NG 680 are likely the most probable candidates to arrive first.

Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
The W990 is part of the poll so I don't think it's unnoticed. It's just that the NG 579 and NG T680 are pure OTR models. They'd be the biggest push Paccar should want out off all the Paccar models. If SCS gets those first, they stand well with Paccar.
The 389 can get worked in whenever but the senior truck modelers need to be on the 2 NG models. The 389 would follow the W900 and get rebuilt but the NG need to be from scratch.

Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
As we know that SCS favours Next Gen trucks to maintain and service its partnerships and licences and to continue to have good relations, that's why it comes out on top for these trucks .
And if SCS really pays this is licenses as some think on youtube it's expensive lol.

Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
While it may be true that those NG trucks are probably first to come due to SCS favoring them, I still believe W990 can be included as one of the latest and greatest designs. Also it is worth mentioning how lately focus was mostly on aero trucks, so a more classic looking truck being released sooner rather then later makes sense to me. Especially since I believe it is among last of such breed still in production.
