Re: Next In-Production ATS truck speculation
I definitely expected the NG 579 to be in the game by now. The NG T680 has been in for a minute. But two different companies to deal with as well. Even the reworked 389 isn't ready yet. So that kinda tells me that Peterbilt is a little difficult to work with or too much missing information. We've seen several Kenworth streams but nothing from Peterbilt other than the factory tour. We still don't have the Peterbilt plant in the game. Paccar owns both but they don't call all the shots.

I don't think the manufacturer has anything to do with it, to be honest. I assume the license has already been acquired and the release of it is solely on SCS. The vehicle team has been lacking in the truck department with the announcement of Road Trip it seems.

Road Trip has nothing to do with the other vehicles. The team working on the cars is a team that has been reassigned exclusively to Road Trip, while the rest of the vehicle department continues working on the trucks. As mentioned, the reason there were no trucks last year was due to the question of new interior materials and the animated suspension.

Road Trip will always be the "scapegoat" for not getting new trucks fast enough, nothing new there.
I also expected the W990 to be already in the game at this point, i was hoping it was coming a few weeks after the NG T680 update since the W990 is 80% a T680, but nothing, all we can do now is wait.

SCS can not release trucks if they don't have approval from the manufacturers. The release is not solely on SCS. SCS has to make the changes brands ask for if they ask for them. Its their trucks displayed in a game so each brand can be picky about small details. This has been said by SCS a few times. I honestly don't see a reason for SCS to lie behind it though.Bag of Donuts wrote: 13 Feb 2026 16:35 I don't think the manufacturer has anything to do with it, to be honest. I'm with you there. The W990 is the T680 cab on a W900 frame. The only real difference is the hood and door skins. Kenworth parts work cross model so the in game assets should be fine too.JoeAlex23 wrote: 13 Feb 2026 17:09 Road Trip will always be the "scapegoat" for not getting new trucks fast enough, nothing new there.

Surely they are not trying to go back and build interiors to add the analog gauge dash and the options from that trucks inception.

Can I express my bewilderment here as to why, out of such a huge number of trucks—some of which were announced as far back as 2024—still aren’t in the game? At this point, it really stands out, because a lot has been shown, it’s interesting, but there isn’t even a hint of a release. I’m tired of staring at screenshots in the developer’s blog, hoping to find a clue there. I wouldn’t want to think that the development of vehicles for Road Trip and Coaches has become the reason for the significant delay in the release of the type of vehicle the game is really about—sleeper trucks. It’s a bit unsettling; it makes me wonder if there are some difficulties in production.

They have said here and on other platforms that there was a massive schedule conflict. I don't think cars and busses affect development, one because busses are pretty much done and two because only one person works on a car/bus, whereas for trucks it's a bit deferent.
My personal opinion is that they are waiting for the new game engine to release so that they can come out with the new interior materials.

I don't know if you've been following the recent news, I'll keep you informed about what's going on:Kororuz wrote: 23 Mar 2026 18:25 Can I express my bewilderment here as to why, out of such a huge number of trucks—some of which were announced as far back as 2024—still aren’t in the game? 1. The reason there haven't been any new trucks for a while is because since last year they've been working on implementing new interior materials and suspension animation. Both features were shown in the last year Christmas Stream. Because of these two things, they will have to go back to all previously released trucks and implement both features, which is time-consuming. But, they are working on new trucks and reworking old trucks, so nothing is paused. We hope that when both features become available, they will start releasing trucks more frequently again.
2. Coaches and Road Trip have their own dedicated modeling teams, without compromising the main vehicle team is working on new trucks and on rework old trucks.
