US Steel Fairfield works on the edge of Birmingham. A massive site, even after they converted the integrated mill into an arc furnace.

Mercedes-Benz plant in Vance. Could be considered Tuscaloosa for the in-game city, since Tuscaloosa actually expanded their city limits ~20 mi to capture the plant within their limits.

Honda plant in Lincoln. Could be marked Birmingham, possibly, or Annison/Talledega if they are included at all (most likely not).

Just off of I-20 SE of Lincoln and the Honda plant,is Talladega Superspeedway, currently NASCAR's longest oval track, the location is also home to the International Motorsports Hall of Fame
, there also appears to be a quarry located just South East of the Speedway.

Red Mountain Cut (Birmingham) along US-280 running SE of downtown. The cut was built in the 1960s and offers a great view of the red hematite iron in the local soil. It is also the connection used from downtown towards I-459 and then onwards to Auburn/Opelika. [ external image ]

Gotta have the US Steel Fairfield works in Birmingham. It used to be an integrated mill, melting ore into steel, but is now an arc furnace that uses scrap. The site is still quite massive, however, and steelmaking is definitely a thing in the Birmingham area.
