(UPDATED 08.02.2024) Better Raindrops v1.9.4 [ETS2 v1.49]

Hello! I'd like to share with you a mod aimed to improve raindrops appearence on windshield (and rain in general) and make game more realistic and immersive.

Key features:
- Add new texture and significantly increase number of raindrops.
- Improved physical behaviour of particles, now their spawn will be more affected by truck position relatively to rain inclination.
It makes a huge difference and vastly improve perception of weather! Just try it yourself!
- Reworked sound effects for wipers and rain
- New car splash trails
- Winter addon, replacing raindrops with snowflakes
- New audio settings for truck cabins improving reverberation and sound insulation

IMPORTANT
- In version 1.1 was added TRUCK ADDON. It is a sub-mod that triples number of raindrops but ONLY FOR ATS SCS TRUCKS! INCOMPATIBLE with modded trucks!!!
- In version 1.2 to main mod were added new sounds for rain and wipers. If you don't like them simply remove sound_br and sound folders from better_raindrops_v1.9.scs.
- In version 1.3 were reworked car splash trails. If you don't like them remove model and unit folders from better_raindrops_v1.9.scs.
- In version 1.8 was added Snowflakes addon, best to be used with Frosty Winter mod.

Load order and my personal sound settings:

Tweak these sliders to achieve comfortable sound level:
Rain inside, Wipers - Interior sounds volume
Rain outisde - World sounds volume

Mod is compatible with any other weather/sound mods, just give Better Raindrops a priority and place on top of others weather/sound mods.

Known issues:
If you experiencing performance issues after installing Truck Addon, try to reduce traffic by entering console command g_traffic 0.5. Change the number to find optimal balance between amount of AI cars and your FPS in the rain

I wish the drops were smaller and slide a bit faster on the glass. ATM they seem big and give a jelly impression rather than water.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I understand what you mean and will try to increase water sliding speed in the next update ^^

As for the size of particles it's more complex topic. Since I want for rain to significantly obstruct visibility, the only viable option is to increase raindrops size because apparantly there is a hardcoded limit on a maximum number of particles no matter how many drop_count_per_meter you will set. And sadly I don't know how ty bypass it.

Wo-hoo! So it is possible to increase particles density and oh my God it looks gorgeous! Below you can see images with doubled number of raindrops:

But-but-but of course there are downsides to it:
1) Possible performace drops on certain PCs (though personally I haven't noticed framerate issues on my Ryzen 2700x 1080Ti 32Gb RAM)
2) It requires changes in truck model thus limiting compatibility with other truck mods. It is pretty easy to edit models themselves but takes lots of time for adjusting and testing of each truck.

Soon I plan to release mod update along with addon for doubled raindrops density (this time for ETS2 vanilla trucks only).

Still experimenting with different particles shapes/behaviour. Have you guys wondered how would look a TRIPLE number of raindrops?
