As far as i know, there isn't an air deflector for the new VNL 740, i've never seen one, could you provide a picture? What you might be referring to is the VNL 760 sleeper, it's like the 740 but with a taller roof.

For some reason, many of the smaller sleepers in the SCS truck lineup have no roofcap option.

This is true. I was hoping that since some of the later released trucks like the International, Freightliner and Mack all had this, maybe by chance SCS had modeled it for this truck and somehow it just got left-out, overlooked or just wasn't ready by release.

You can't compare what they did with the 5 original trucks to what they are doing after the International LT, also, is not a "trend", some trucks are just missing it (5 of 14 trucks) and some don't need it (like the 49X).

Yup, the 740 roof deflector is a thing and just like you guys, I was quite disappointed we didn't get it.
I guess the only person who could answer the question why it wasn't included is Oscar

Yes the roof deflector for the 740 would be a nice addition, also would be nice to have the 400 cab and at least one option for 4x2chassis with sleeper
