Can we please get....
Re: Can we please get....
Why would you want a 4x2 with a sleeper?! That is not an option provided by the manufacturer unless it's custom made for a very specific need, if you want to suggest something for a truck, at least make sure it's a factory option.

Why doesn't the 49x need it?JoeAlex23 wrote: ↑28 May 2023 17:08 "this trend started with the T680" always talking nonsense
You can't compare what they did with the 5 original trucks to what they are doing after the International LT, also, is not a "trend", some trucks are just missing it (5 of 14 trucks) and some don't need it (like the 49X).

That's custom installed from a Cascadia, it is just pointless on that truck.

A lot of LTL companies run 4x2 sleeper teams pulling doubles. Old Dominion is one of them. Yellow had sleeper teams especially out west.

I strongly doubt multiple dealers are installing custom accessories on brand new inventory for no point at all. Or perhaps (the likely option), Western Star offers a roofcap on the 49x from the factory.

The chances of it being custom from a dealer drop even further considering the official pre-release version of the truck in Australia also has the factory roofcap.

They appear to have offered a similar option for the Coronado:

Yep, UPS did as well. Hercules is another: they run big sleepers with single axles.SmokeyWolf wrote: ↑28 May 2023 22:40A lot of LTL companies run 4x2 sleeper teams pulling doubles. Old Dominion is one of them. Yellow had sleeper teams especially out west.
And that's not even counting all the companies in Cali specifically that run them. Those hay haulers are snazzy:

I didn't say they don't exist, i know they do, even this bizarre thingSmokeyWolf wrote: ↑28 May 2023 22:40A lot of LTL companies run 4x2 sleeper teams pulling doubles. Old Dominion is one of them. Yellow had sleeper teams especially out west.

But they are they are specialized and custom built, and SCS has been clear about only including factory available options.
Re: Can we please get....
@JoeAlex23 in the in the Volvo VNL specifications page, Volvo list wheelbases for 4x2 and 6x4 configurations of all the sleepers, I know that in the builder dosn't let you chosse 4x2 with a sleeper but the Volvo builder is very limited only the 740 cab let you chosse anything different than a 6x4, and we know that Volvo offer 4x2 and 6x2 configurations be cause you can see it on dealers or on the road.
(I think only International configurator let you build a 4x2 with sleeper)
Have a 4x2 with sleeper option would be interesting, maybe not the 860 cab, but for example the the 400 cab will be perfect for that(or the 740 max)
There are some aplications that run 4x2 with sleepers for example apart of the listed above i can say that many Cali hay haulers run 4x2 with sleeper and staa doubles, or some rv transporters that also run sleeper in a 4x2, so 4x2 with sleepers are defenitly a thing that could be in game.
An example

Axles in almost all cases are not made by the truck manufacturer in the first place. They are made by outside vendors like Hendrickson. If you want a single axle sleeper, the manufacturer will build you one. It's just a handful of bolts onto an existing frame rail.
Might have to pay a bit more, but it's not that special.
Kenworth just built a tri-drive, tri-steer T800 for a customer. That's a one of a kind build.
