More potholes and bumps on surface streets/freeways

#1 Post by trainguy_gaming » 05 Jun 2023 04:12

As of right now, there are some potholes and bumps on surface streets, there could be more on surface streets. There could be way more potholes and bumps on freeways. I hope SCS adds more potholes and bumps. Let me know your thoughts. :)

They need to add physical modelling like every proper game has done since the year 400BC.. i mean omsi has literal physical roads with deformations that interact with each wheel. since scs likes to paint their roads instead of actually modelling them as physicals, they could just add motion triggers with decals on top to simulate joints, patches etc. They already do that with marks, oil slicks etc anyway. Just need the triggers. Here, this is the easiest way they can do that and not make it random like it is now. still better than it was before.
when potholes and winter?

Hopefully, SCS will add more visible potholes and bumps

My biggest wish is that the game engine update seriously opens up the game to more possibilities. Between multi core, multi threading and DX12, a lot can perhaps happen for more enhancements.

Yeah, we are in dire desperation for the newly updated engine, wonder what's taking SCS forever to release it.

Hopefully 1.50? Idk at this point either, but yes, we need improved street and highway surfaces.

They announced the game engine update a couple of years ago, wonder if it's taken longer than expected cuz a lot must behind the engine that we don't know about?

I like to think some of the recent changes are part of it. The game is seemingly running better, and they just improved the graphics again. Also, there is snow in the editor, so clearly something is happening.

I'd guess 1.50 will be a bigger change, and may be the reason why cities like San Fran haven't been shown yet.

there's snow in the weather editor? I haven't seen that option unless I'm stupid and it's called something else
