Why would the skyway be included in the Illinois DLC? It pretty much just leads to Indiana.

^Because the user is casual and doesn't understand how mapping works when it comes to future links to tge next dlc. If interstates or roads in general but are obvious to continue, that means it's to continue with the next dlc.

Re: Illinois Discussion Thread
I was really impressed by how well Chicago was done. I’ve been on the Dan Ryan/Kennedy numerous times traveling between Indiana and Wisconsin and Minnesota, and it is extremely accurate. Driving on 90/94 feels just like it would in real life and they even included the commuter train that runs in the highway median. I also enjoyed seeing the elevated train running through downtown.
I was really impressed by the Chicago skyline. I could instantly recognize the Sears Tower, which stands out above the other skyscrapers. Driving through Chicago on Lake Shore Drive also felt incredibly accurate and they even included the aquarium and planetarium in the distance.
It was also great that they included both the Lincoln and Belvidere Oasis, and I can only assume that they will include the Lake Forest Oasis when they expand I-94 into Wisconsin. I usually make a pitstop at an oasis when I’m in the area so its great to have them represented in the game.
Just like how I enjoyed seeing signs for Chicago and Minneapolis when Iowa released, its great to have signs mentioning Madison, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Louisville, and Nashville finally in the game.

Yeah 5 years ago, seeing these signs seemed like 10 years away. They are steam rolling thru things now. But I expected things to move along steadily once Texas got out the door.HighwayCatGaming wrote: 31 May 2026 00:22 Just like how I enjoyed seeing signs for Chicago and Minneapolis when Iowa released, its great to have signs mentioning Madison, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Louisville, and Nashville finally in the game.

Pointless to have the Skyway as it would lead to nowhere without Indiana.oldmanclippy wrote: 29 May 2026 12:20 Why would the skyway be included in the Illinois DLC? It pretty much just leads to Indiana.

Re: Illinois Discussion Thread
Yeah the skyway was only built because Indiana extended the Indiana Toll Road all the way to Chicago instead of ending it at the intersection with the Borman (I-94). Chicago wasn't allowed to build a toll road but was able to build a toll bridge, so originally there weren't any exits on the skyway. Today, they only have exits on the skyway after you've passed through the toll plaza. Looking at the map, any eastbound exits off the skyway would be east of Torrance Ave and wouldn't fit on the map, and they don't connect to anything that important anyways.LBTrucker10 wrote: 31 May 2026 07:18Pointless to have the Skyway as it would lead to nowhere without Indiana.oldmanclippy wrote: 29 May 2026 12:20 Why would the skyway be included in the Illinois DLC? Re: Illinois Discussion Thread
My question is why they aren’t any toll plaza on I-80
Where I-294/80 interchange they could of put one
Even though it does merge with I-294/80
It would make perfect sense too me

Re: Illinois Discussion Thread
I-80 is not part of the Illinois Tollway except when being concurrent with I-294
I-294 is not represented in this DLC so that is why we can't see the toll booth on the ramp at exit 5

There should be one more toll booth north on I-90 when the WI DLC comes out.gt379 wrote: 01 Jun 2026 15:47 I-80 is not part of the Illinois Tollway except when being concurrent with I-294
