Re: Michigan Discussion Thread
To emphasis the Motor City, it would be sweet if they managed to get all 3 car plants around Detroit. Its not like we'll get any new retail. Detroit Metro Airport could make the cut as well. That would be 4 large depots though and perhaps unlikely. Ann Arbor is mostly a college town. If it goes scenic, the airport can slide West to give more space to I-94 for the auto plants. All 3 have plants along I-94. Chrysler and GM works out great for East Detroit though. One is on the North side of I-94, the other on the South. All 3 are away from downtown Detroit so the Ford plant on the West side of Detroit has more wiggle room if I-94 along that angle slides West.

Re: Michigan Discussion Thread
Maybe outdated since I've left the state, but there are TONS of parts and assembly facilities around the state. I know I did a lot of research and picked out a number in my Michigan map back during covid. Factories and OEMs are the purple car symbol, and the three proving grounds are the blue car symbol.

Re: Michigan Discussion Thread
Hmmm. So I see a few car part facilities as well as factories that should get represented for sure. Saginaw has 2 powertrain plants. That's the motor and transmission depot there. Grand Rapids can have remote car parts as Adient or they skip it altogether. But hopefully Holland area gets some scenic recognition. Lansing and Detroit are the car factory cities. Detroit is gonna be a beast trying so many things at 1:20 scale. But based on today's Illinois video, Chicago looks to be a nice treat. If SCS is making this new trend of city driving a continuous thing, I think that indicates that the remainder of ATS big cities will be loaded up even at the scale they have to work with.
Windsor Ontario could make it as marked. Its a small area though but SCS can take a little space from Ontario and gain it back with Lake Erie. Lake St Clair doesn't appear to even need to be mapped. So I-94 can push East more to extend downtown Detroit some. Detroit will need to be a decent size though to make it feel urban enough.

Well of course Windsor Ontario has to be added in. It's a border city and the city builds cars there. c: Plus it would be weird if it was not added if someone bought Ontario and not Michigan.

Re: Michigan Discussion Thread
A border city does not confirm it being marked. I'll be happy to see your reference to confirm it though. It will be there at least scenic because it can be seen from Detroit. Ideally its marked but there's no confirmation of that unless you can provide those details.
Making cars there doesn't hold weight if they don't give us roads close to that facility. If Detroit has the area saturated with car factories, that doesn't guarantee Windsor's plant. Ideally they remove one plant from Detroit to put across the border to add to its economy though. I can see that.
In the Illinois thread, people are commenting on Rivian not being visible in Bloomington Illinois. We are not guaranteed to get car plants just because a city makes cars. Texas, San Antonio has an Navistar plant....we didn't get that either.

Re: Michigan Discussion Thread
The ICC part of Motor City, especially the rest of Michigan, would really benefit with new car models to match that verbiage. Especially since the Big Three should be fully represented as different creations in SCS's universe. We have Caliber which is akin to Chevrolet/GMC, and I could stand to see the two others being represented as legally distinct company names.
Which brings me to needing more vehicle variety because a whole lot more could be added in based on what I have contributed on the wishlist.

Re: Michigan Discussion Thread
As it is right now, more vehicle + vehicle cargo variety wouldn't be enough to make them stand apart. There's currently no distinction between company name and cargo when it comes to vehicle brands- every vehicle factory in the game manufactures all the different car/truck cargos, so even if other IRL car brands get their own unique company names there would be functionally no difference.
If they want to make each location actually feel different, SCS could take a look at all the vehicle cargo in the game and separate at least some of them out into more specific "Voltison Cars," "Caliber Cars," "Asuma Pickups," etc. and assign them to their respective vehicle plants.

Re: Michigan Discussion Thread
I didn't mean adding Windsor into Michigan DLC. Was talking about Ontario .-.
Maybe I might hold that topic off for now. :I

Re: Michigan Discussion Thread
I knew you wasn't implying Windor goes to Michigan. Why would I think a city in Ontario Canada goes to a the US side. I'm saying at this point in time, we had no idea with we get Windsor as marked in Ontario. What might seems obvious......we can't assume. SCS isn't always predictable at what we get. That is a tight area. We need that border crossing for semi trucks at Ambassador Bridge. That border could be tight on space.

Re: Michigan Discussion Thread
Idk. I feel like the Gordie Howe International Bridge would be made for all vehicles and the Ambassador Bridge would also be made but might not get used at all (maybe PRT). Just scenery.
